Also, I think elderly people need to limit the contact they have with their grandchildren right now...kids i would imagine are more likely to pick up this virus at school or buses to school... And while the virus might have little effect on them, passing it on to their grandparents is a different story...
Even if they are not a major vector for coronavirus (the data on the role of kids on spreading seems very unclear at the moment) kids are a veritable petri dish of other bugs and being as healthy as you can be and avoiding having to go into hospital for any reason seems a pretty wise idea for the vulnerable right now.

It's time for the elderly and most vulnerable to isolate themselves. It's not right that someone who is fit and healthy should be forced into isolation, especially as this virus is nothing more than a common cold for those who are otherwise fit and kids I believe aren't at any risk at all.

It's much more than a common cold, even fit and healthy people can be wiped out by an aggressive flu related virus.

I was once hospitalised by something eerily similar to what this is being described as. That never passed on to anyone else luckily, but it was terrifying.

I have dislocated and torn ligaments in my knee in a freak footballing accident.
The pain was nothing compared to what flooded lungs feels like :(

I am genuinely scared for what potentially may be ahead for the population.

Went to Tesco today with my wife as she wanted to pick something up for after dinner. Lots of people, as usual, and just doing as usual, no filling of trolleys, no run on toilet paper, just a normal Sunday afternoon shop. So who are all these panicking shoppers, buying up everything, my guess is London and Cities. Those of use who just get on with life tend not to panic as much as the city Millenials, the snowflakes and the ‘woke’ populations....funny that....

Thanks for that...and cheering us all up.....

A bit of perspective is probably required just now...not having a go, but ffs people have more chance of dying with the flu or a road accident......

There is no doubt this is going to get pretty bad. Hopefully we will benefit from lessons learned from other countries. I find it interesting viewing the global figures.

it feels like the US have dropped the ball despite their confirmed cases number looking good for their population currently. They started testing late and I read somewhere today that they have only tested 6000 people compared to over 20,000 tests in the U.K. I can see it really kicking off there in the next couple of days

The lead image of empty Tesco shelving used by the BBC was taken in Royston.

I saw a Daily Post article which mentioned three different North Wales towns having no toilet paper.

Neither London or Cities.

Why on earth are people stocking up on bog roll anyway ?
Surely normal people have enough bog roll in the house to last two weeks ?

I'd be more concerned about running out of bread, cheese, milk, beer and fruit and veg. Lets face it, if you run out of food and drink, you won't have much use for bog roll.
