I‘m just trying to suggest you don’t want the perspective of lying in a hospital corridor hoping there is a ventilator available like some of your Italian compatriots Pete.

My lass is a nurse practitioner and she told me if it proper kicks off here then it’s likely people over 70 won’t even be admitted to ITU. There isn’t enough ITU trained nurses and younger people would take priority.

Cheers for correcting mate :)

Oh, it's still a lot of at risk people, but nowhere near the same as in Italy.

If you're relatively young, the best thing to do is to be overcautious and, at the first sign of any cough, cold or similar ... avoid unnecessary contact with aging parents / grandparents and the like, which is what you'd hope people would do under normal circumstances, but it's even more important at the moment.

Went to Tesco today with my wife as she wanted to pick something up for after dinner. Lots of people, as usual, and just doing as usual, no filling of trolleys, no run on toilet paper, just a normal Sunday afternoon shop. So who are all these panicking shoppers, buying up everything, my guess is London and Cities. Those of use who just get on with life tend not to panic as much as the city Millenials, the snowflakes and the ‘woke’ populations....funny that....

All of my local supermarkets are fine. No signs of panic, panic buying, shortages or stocking up.

If you walk into a shop and all essentials are fully stocked, then you'd probably feel calm, with no need to worry.

If you walk into a shop and see one bottle of water and a single packet of pasta left, then you'd probably put it in your basket, even if it wasn't on your shopping list.

Panic creates further panic.

Why on earth are people stocking up on bog roll anyway ?
Surely normal people have enough bog roll in the house to last two weeks ?

I'd be more concerned about running out of bread, cheese, milk, beer and fruit and veg. Lets face it, if you run out of food and drink, you won't have much use for bog roll.

I’ve got the beer covered tbh......

It’s a genuine achievement that you’ve managed to use the words woke, snowflakes and millennials in one sentence.

Thanks for that...and cheering us all up.....
Sorry bud. I wasn't trying to scare people.
Just trying to point out that those who think it is just a cold, if they try and carry on as normal, could cause serious damage to themselves and others.

I carried on in work and thought I just had a temperature and a bit of a cold. What it led to changed my perception of 'colds and flu' forever.

I just hope that experience hasn't left me vulnerable. I have the flu jab and I an fit and healthy mostly. But my chest gets sore quite easily, and I always have a bit of a cough :/
