Listening to people tell me and beg for the government supplies of PPE that we were told not to buy because the government would ensure they would be there 2 months ago.But you work in health commissioning with accountability for emergency planning, so exactly what the hell were you doing. Now I’m pretty sure that quite a few people in positions of power, Politicians, CS etc, did not immediately see the implications or disaster on the horizon, but we are where we are, and having a go at them, or indeed yourself, is perhaps not the best use of time at this particular moment.....there will be time later....
I agree....they are just incompetent.
I know.....and they still were not sitting on their hands for two months.....
‘Reasonable worst case’: the most severe event that expert advice indicates could reasonably be expected to occur. This is then used for our planning assumptions.
For example:
• Up to 50% of the population potentially being infected
• 4% of those who are symptomatic requiring hospital admission
• Staff absenteeism rates of up to 15-20% during the peak week
• Up to 2.5% of those with symptoms could die as a result of the pandemic
Well, they were originally designed and deployed in the NI as part of Banner, which wasn’t a Labour government. It happens, life is not perfect unfortunately....soldiers were sent to Iraq and Afghanistan by a Labour government in soft sided vehicles which were being blown up with ied’s....it happens......haven’t heard anyone calling out these murderous policies...

I managed to get community testing scheme commissioned and live in 3 days only to be told government strategy was no longer to test like that anymore.
What have you done?

Most people on this thread, if they get it will be treated by a system people like me have commissioned and ensured is functioning effectively.
What have you done?

That feels equivalent...I closed a pub and a shop, sorted out pay for our staff and mothballed two premises, I’m teaching a 7 year old maths and English and supporting a wife, two of my four children and a granddaughter financially, oh and I’ve been cutting the grass. I’ve been reasonably busy.....
