I was watching BBC news before and they had a diary of a person who runs a care home. Not sure if it'll be on the main update at 4pm but it was rather sad. If one of the residents has it then they've been told that person will be discharged back to the care home, despite the devastation that is likely to cause.

Just what I need to hear with my dad in care

"isn't a good look"? You do know NHS staff are having to make their own PPE, right?

It still didn’t allow for ‘two months sitting on hands’ as claimed by some on here....let’s at least be fair with our governments....

Pete you yourself were warning about the impact on supply chains in early Feb so at the very least you would have expected the governments planning departments to have been as up to date as you on what it might mean for healthcare supplies.

It could indeed. Supply chains in a variety of industrial sectors will be hit....

Not so sure really.

Like not painting them in any great light, but there were certainly some plans in storage. That Nightingale hospital for example. Not a chance that was delivered in a few days with military help with zero planning from somewhere.

Just looking at the number of wards/beds. 4000 rustled up or made in a week? No chance.

The resilience structures asking for additional capacity and logistics problems, particularly regarding PPE, brought in military assistance and military planners. Space had already been identified as contingency, mostly for excess death management, BDP drew up the plans and the military basically threw it up.

Effectively it was.

So seeing as you’re claiming that you know what they were doing during that period, what tangibly did they achieve in terms of preparation for what was obviously on its way? As we had the benefit of watching exactly how it planned out in other nations. Go on then.......
