where did I say it was nationally out of control?

we are losing 600-700 people a day to this; by next week it could easily be 1000 a day. this is not under control.

You'll lose people in a worldwide pandemic, dependant on the viruses mortality rate. You can't stop that.

People dying does not define if the pandemic is, relatively under control and being well managed.

If the vast majority of people who need hospital treatment are able to get it then any government is managing the situation well.

It's when the NHS hasn't got the beds and ventilators to cope, so people are dying, not because they couldn't survive it, but because they didn't get the treatment when they needed it, so they die as a result. That's when I'd class it as out of control.

What you're saying might happen in the next few days but it hasn't yet.

That would be my definition as out of control to. But people get a little upset and the start accusing people of not taking it seriously.

Go forth and multiply with duplicitous double talk...

Prof Stephen Powis, national medical director of NHS England, says the death rate continues to be high and "this is likely to continue for a week or two"

We’ve pretty much got ourselves into a routine as a family, which other than my teenage lad being “ bored out of his skull “ seems to be sustainable and working well.

It’s just about adapting, which in the grand scheme of things isn’t really that hard to do.

Some people will always whinge no matter what.
Same in our house finding it quite easy to be honest enjoying the break. But worrying what comes next regarding work and finances for my family who have all been furloughed in last few days and don't know if they'll have a job to go back to if it goes on for to long.

not sure what else can be said, to be honest - if 700 dead in a day, everyone told to stay home unless urgent and most businesses closed isn't already enough

I’ve ordered a stack of books for the same reasons mate.

Reading may be sedentary, but it keeps the brain ticking over.

My little ones love them !
