its out of control now - thats why we have a lockdown, why hospitals are running out of oxygen (and haven't been able to keep up PPE supplies), and why its going to get worse over the next few days

That doesn't mean it's out of control. It means we are struggling to deal with it, which is expected.

Out of control is having millions of people infected at the same time and not enough beds to cope.

Currently the NHS isn't at full capacity. Yeah, they may be running out of oxygen in some places, which is worrying but it could be a lot worse.

That's not me belittling what's going on atm either.

This sadly isnt the answer.

Seen far too many reports of it failing badly now.
When the results from the full trials come in there may still be a benefit detected even if only at the margins, or for some specific patients or when used early in disease but sadly have to admit the data I’ve seen to date is not encouraging in treating severe patients.

The plasma results, again still needing full trials to be sure, have been a bit more hopeful in early data.

All about routine.
Totally agree.
Genuinely have to look what day it is some days.
Yeah same I didn’t realize it was Saturday today. My girlfriend works in care place for the disabled up in Formby. I take her in the morning an pick her up at 8. I took her today an I have been watching House in the morning an I was like where is house this morning an then realized it’s the weekend haha.

That’s the only time I have been leaving the house an to do my mums tablets an pick up bits for her an leave it on the step once a week. I haven’t seen my mum face to face since they was advised to stay in for 12 weeks because she has heart failure. We face time a lot an she is genuinely scared. I have told her to stop watching the news an just keep doing what she’s doing.

We’ve pretty much got ourselves into a routine as a family, which other than my teenage lad being “ bored out of his skull “ seems to be sustainable and working well.

It’s just about adapting, which in the grand scheme of things isn’t really that hard to do.

Some people will always whinge no matter what.

I'm already used to it in all honesty. Probably because I have worked from home plenty in the past and had been for the last month anyway. I've got no work now, like, but I'm used to that routine and discipline so can fill my time. That's what I guess a lot of people struggle with, especially those used to an hour or so commute.

Given my work I've worked shifts for ages too, so again, used to doing like a 2pm - 11pm so having my morning 'free'.

Missing the routine of the gym (the treadmill, mainly) and being able to do something as simple as nip for a coffee. That first pint will be nice too like (in about August :D)

I'm sure a lot of people are/have adapted. Doesn't take the worry away going forward like but is what it is.

Yeah, but the lockdown will start to kick in soon and stop it going to crazy levels, assuming it's successful.

Doubt it mate places like Italy and Spain are still ravaged by new cases and deaths on a daily basis.

China have also fiddled the books to pretend hundreds of thousands more didnt die whilst barricaded into their own homes during their 2 month or so lockdown.

Just wish we had put more measures in place (PPE, extra capacity, more ventilators) to put off the NHS being pushed to full capacity even more.

Feels like we're chasing tails when we could have had at least half a foot ahead of this thing.
