So those are death rates involving confirmed cases? Does anyone have a handle on how many asymptomatic cases there have been? That would surely lessen the death rate -- not that it would be any less frightening.
Of course it would be less frightening, if half had no symptoms then death totals are to be divided by 2. It seems to be the case that slightly over half have no symptoms, from the Diamond Princess and the testing done in Iceland show about 53% with no symptoms.

Norway and Finland have lower population densities than Sweden...not I would use that as the determining factor of course......
My understanding is they are similar Pete? Which is why I thought it useful to compare them as I do think population density could well be a factor (although not the only one as Singapore has shown)
Denmark is by far the most densely populated country, whilst Sweden, Norway and Finland are low populated and similar to each other from this perspective.

Norway and Finland are almost identical, Sweden has a slightly higher density. I only mentioned it because there are numerous differences between countries but Sweden appears to be the only one not in lockdown and Goat felt that population density was the deciding factor....it may be, but I want to see the numbers when this is all over before drawing any conclusion......

All Uni's shut down weeks ago mate. They're well rehearsed in home learning and started early. Not sure how they're going to arrange the exams though. It's mostly project work anyway
Universities have sacked a ton of lecturers who were on short term contracts (which is quite prevalent nowadays) so distance learning might become very difficult. For example :

I think it likely does make a difference absent any intervening actions but Singapore has so far proved that it is not an overriding issue compared to government response.

And whilst we obviously can’t come to definitive conclusions until things have run their course we can still make assessments based on current data and I personally would be much happier living in Norway/Finland than Sweden especially as Finland and Sweden had their first case around the same time.

Sweden +563 cases 6131 total, +50 deaths 358 total deaths
Norway +149 cases 5296 total, +6 deaths 56 total
Finland +97 cases 1615 total, +1 death 20 total

I'm well aware of that; I was referring more to the unknown in terms of how long it's going to take to get a handle on this.
