Is your wife experiencing any problems with PPE? And thanks for the work she's doing.

She's been a community nurse for several years, but is highly likely to be deployed to clinical care on Monday, so she has no idea what equipment she'll have or what the situation will be like. At the moment, she's more concerned about the relative rustiness of her skills, so will probably spend the weekend swotting up and doing various assessments and stuff on me.

I didn’t say any different. I said no politician would take the decision to kill 100,000 people.....
Some would. But luckily we don't live in a country like that.
Not for the want of trying by Johnson and his cronies, they were soundly beaten by uproar of public opinion, that's what happens when you take your position for granted. Also, nice to see politics allowed in this thread again, do as I say not what we do mantra....

British health minister Matt Hancock was asked this morning if Prime Minister Boris Johnson would be coming out of quarantine today, having tested positive for the coronavirus.

His response:- "I have no idea".

Its half ten and I've already done all my chores. No exercise today as I'm tired so I'll have a rest... the only things I have left to do today are replacing the seal on the washing machine and cleaning some bikes.

I've been on lockdown 16 days and this is the first time I've been proper bored off me tits.

Would it be wrong for me to go to the range or BQ for paint as these are none essential items but could use this free time to decorate.

You want to try teaching a 7 year old all day.....you never get bored.....

where did you get those figures from? I don't think there are 7k deaths in Germany yet?

Its following the familiar pattern of getting a familiar foothold in the main transport hubs that are usually dense urban cities NY LA, NJ, New O, that cocktail is just right for the virus. You would love to see a strategic plans now minimizing contagion through the belt on the east and west and coasts and surrounding areas particularly cities. If lock down is lifted though, i wonder will we see a mass exit from these areas and subsequent second surge. People of Louisiana, god you would really feel for them they've had such a terrible few years. Fingers crossed.

Doing vastly better than most European nations?

It's those in critical care that's the worry. As the other post from the Financial Times journalist references, their testing has been misleading to an extent as they tested groups who are most likely to be unaffected by this.

Obviously they'll still be better off than us because they have better healthcare etc. But nearly 4,000 in critical. Their numbers have shot up in terms of deaths this week too.
