As are Sinn Fein in Ireland

Tbf, this hurts them a little I reckon. Leo has performed very well, to the point that I believe if he had held off on an election for another few weeks, he would have been in a much stronger position. Obvs politics doesn't matter, but him, Fine Gael and even Fianna Fail are going to come out of this looking very good.

All decisions are taken by and are the responsibility of Ministers.

Civil servants present options and recommendations only, then action the Ministerial decision.

This is fact and can't be twisted Pete.

I didn’t say any different. I said no politician would take the decision to kill 100,000 people.....

In ireland the CMO Tony Holohan's word is gospel.
Whatever he says regarding policy ,lockdowns etc is what the Government does irregardless of the financial consequences

And in this matter, no politician would do any different... obviously apart from Boris who set out to kill 10 million people....

Listen, if you want me to clap for politicians I can assure you that I will drop my ballies and cack on my own doorstep, and I hardly ever do that!

I reckon we should arrange to give them a good old Goodison boo.

Having said that I am pleased they went that far with the furlough pay, that must be helping a lot of people. Financially they have done ok but the roll out of testing and containment has been rubbish.

Cheltenham and leaving it up to premier league, the wru and so on to cancel their own games when it was bloody obvious that it was going to cause real problems have been real low points.

Just been looking at the Sweden #s compared to their neighbors Norway and Finland who are both on lockdown. Sweden has a population of about 10million, the other two about 5m each,

Cases 4947 Deaths 239

Norway https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/norway/
Cases 4828 Deaths 43

Finland
Cases 1446 Deaths 17

Norway has a high case number but low % of deaths, seems like they have been doing a lot of testing along with their lockdown

Finland and Sweden had their first case around the end of Jan, Norway Feb 25th which could account for their low fatality rate to date but not the difference between Finland and Sweden
Sweden New Cases +621 Total Cases 5568 New deaths +69 Total Deaths 308
Norway New cases +265 Total Cases 5142 New deaths +6 Total Deaths 50
Finland New Cases +72 Total Cases 1518 New deaths +2 Total Deaths 19
