Never said it was a good idea. Just think that I reckon what will happen.

I’m with you on this because I think extended quarantine will eventually break so become worthless in itself so they’ll continue to use lockdown to gain time which ultimately is all that it is . We’ve done hardly any tests so it’s effectively worthless so all I can imagine is we’re buying team before relaxing it and then perhaps trying again .

I’ll probably be as wrong as I usually am but without mass testing this whole thing smacks of herd immunity via the back door with the pressure taken off the nhs .

I don't know but maybe it's not past the point to reason that they may be outside our current governments.

In ireland the CMO Tony Holohan's word is gospel.
Whatever he says regarding policy ,lockdowns etc is what the Government does irregardless of the financial consequences

Can’t think of any alternative course of action but still a tad worrying as tiredness often leads to mistakes and poor judgement...

Yeah, I think so, doesn’t seem feasible to keep it under wraps for 12 - 18 months for a vaccine to appear.

The government will be loathed to state the strategy so baldly, as a load of people would hear that and say “well if the plan is just for us all to get it, I’ll just take my chances and carry on as normal”, and completely scupper the social distancing control of the flow of new cases.
