A genuine question.
How much is health insurance in America for your average citizen ?
Varies widely tbh based on plan type, location, your own age/health and whether you get a subsidy from government or discounted plan negotiated by your company.

Latest stuff. Re. confirmed cases, UK still looks to be on course with Germany/France though will need to flatten off in the next 5-7 days. Not good news on the deaths but the confirmed cases one is the one which will show how effective lockdown has been overall. Obviously need the death rate to slow but it's showing no sign of it.

Bit confused as to where he's getting the Sweden info from. The deaths are not the same as Italy or Spain according to WHO (see below - unless of course he means at the same stage in the process, but even then I feel Italy was having way more than 69 new deaths a day at this stage. It's definitely rising in Sweden like.

I presume, like you say, he’s mapping Sweden & Belgium to where Italy & Spain were at the same stage of their outbreak.

Wow.

That's proper money that.

That’s just the premium.

You will have a copay of $5-50 to see you doctor. Medication copay with similar range for each medication every month

Edit: that’s just outpatient costs.
I mentioned myself getting ill abroad a while back.
Now, that holiday was originally a fully paid up Disney holiday to Florida and Disney had to cancel it due to issues with the hotel.
We ended up in Spain..
My medical bill was over £250k apparantly ( insured so not arsed ).
I dread to think what it would have been in the US, and family couldn't pop on a 2 hour flight either to visit and stay.

You must think our NHS is superb ?

I’m fairly run of the mill income wise
Neither my wife or I get coverage through work. We have one kid
we pay $1000 a month.
that has a $2000 deductible for each person. Meaning they won’t pay anything till you spend that amount (not as a family but individually)
then there’s copays which is a charge for anything you do even after the deductible.
In the average year as a family, we spend around $20k (including inurance) on healthcare.
this would be considered fairly normal. Not sure how anyone with chronic illness manages.

Jesus that's scandalous. Maybe I'll stop moaning about £60 per person per month here in Spain
