CONFIRMED: Moyes Leaving - All Reaction Here

could be any one of a thousand reasons.
the new tv deal was only announced last june. So giving the board a few months to plan how it will get broken down takes us to the start of this season.

Well most knew the ball park for the tv money but even so why a few months to break it down?

Surely knowing the future manager for next season would be paramount and in fairness to the board it's been said a contract offer has been on the table for some time - if true it's Moyes pure and simple.

Someone offer a plausible explanation why it's not - he's holding us to ransom all day long we can't plan for next season as it stands, shocking he should be told piss or get off the pot by tonight.

The finances are so tight at Everton 'ball-park' figures aren't accurate enough. Moyes has had enough of Bills wishy-washy promises and wants to be told exact numbers.
Also Moyes is probably asking quite a lot from the board, if he made them aware of his ambitions for the club last season, I can't imagine them just saying "£25m to spend each summer? Yeah of course we can do that" would be enough. Moyes wants to see the full breakdown - where the money will come from etc.

I think there is a good chance that Chelsea will buck their trend and try to make a long-term appointment by going for Mr Moyes. Moyes has called Chelsea 'pretty perfect' in the past. If this scenario pans out, then it is highly likely we will appoint Mr Mourinho as our next manager, who would love to work at Everton and prove himself as the best manager once again. You heard it here first. Laugh if you will, but Mourinho has already said that 'there are things that people cannot imagine' going to happen.

Just seen that Moyes is actually 14/1 second favourite for the Chelsea job though. Bit mad.

Sounds like it all hinges on Europe now.

European spot may decide my Everton future - David Moyes

Everton manager David Moyes has said that European qualification will play a major role in deciding whether he extends his 11-year stay at the club.
Moyes, 49, is out of contract at the end of the current campaign.
Saturday's 1-0 win against Stoke moved Everton to within four points of the final Champions League spot and two points away from a Europa League place.
"The only thing I am interested in is managing winning teams that are regularly in Europe," he told the BBC.

"I have always said we should wait until the end of the season, because by that time we will see where the club is and how we can move forward.
"That is big for me, as I want to know if there is a chance that Everton in the future can continue to compete at this level and if anything, get better."

I reckon he would be in the same position as Hodgson was at Liverpool at Chelsea.

i can see it happening to be honest. What does abramovich want though? He wants rid of Lampard and moyes has infuriated fans by persisting with players like Neville ( poor similarity, I know) moyes would be hated by the Chelsea fans.

He is too hard defensively minded to jump into billionaires row to simply please the Russian, he would be cut out before his second caviar breakfast.

So, that's Moyes & Fellaini. Only need Baines to say something similar, which they all deserve to be honest.

Over to you Bill..

So it's about money , it's about Europe , it's about other factors .. So many people seem to be making so many arguments about what it's about I'm a total cynic but it seems obvious to me .

He wants assurances that the club can move forward, but he's also certain he wants to move on if it's going to be more of the same and if the job offer is right. I think this year he wants something more from the board than the usual player sale budget. That makes sense. Without investment, we can only finish 6th or 7th while other teams invest heavily around us. It looked to be happening with the Fer deal and I think he wants to know that the board will be willing to invest in the summer too.

I think he loves his job here and he'll sign a contract if he's offered something a little better than the usual. That's all the board have to do. If all they can offer is more of the same we really are f*cked, because even they're not so stupid as to simply let Moyes walk out the door if they could possibly stop him. That will truly be the sign that we haven't a pot to piss in.

I reckon that even if Moyes was offered the little bit extra he appears to be after, there's a decent chance he'd still leave if offered a better job. That's fair enough. He's at a point now where he owes us less than nothing. He's been here 11 years and doesn't really deserve this struggle for another 4/5 years. He'd be doing himself a favour if he took a good job and he can take as long as he likes as far as I'm concerned. He'd be leaving us with a talented squad with the likes of Felli, Kevin, Pienaar, Baines, Jagielka, Gibson etc and probably at least having just secured 6th place in the premier league. At present, the situation hasn't really harmed us and we're still fighting away.

He has been asking for assurances for ten years, we have moved forward on a budget, fairly decent some years, but the 24/7 search goes on, we lose Moyes after losing players.

I love Everton, but fear what happens once he leaves.

He only manages teams who get into europe, well Davey boy are you not the manager is it not your responsibility to get us into europe? You have had opportunities and squandered them with bad managerial decisions, so who's fault is it we are not in europe who's is it.

Blame Kenwright and his lack of finances all you want but other clubs with smaller budgets than ours have been in europe over you managerial reign.

Also if you sod off, we won't be getting any compensation as you have allowed your contract to run down so your an even bigger tool for that.

I think you need to get of the fence here. So do you want him to stay or what ?

I was quite happy for him to be our manager until all this contract nonsense. Now i personally feel he has disrespected the club and fans to such a degree, I think he should leave. If he stays I'll get behind him again but never expect this situation to happen again.
