CONFIRMED: Moyes Leaving - All Reaction Here

I think there is a good chance that Chelsea will buck their trend and try to make a long-term appointment by going for Mr Moyes. Moyes has called Chelsea 'pretty perfect' in the past. If this scenario pans out, then it is highly likely we will appoint Mr Mourinho as our next manager, who would love to work at Everton and prove himself as the best manager once again. You heard it here first. Laugh if you will, but Mourinho has already said that 'there are things that people cannot imagine' going to happen.

I dont see what he's pushing, tbf. If, as seems to be the case, he's looking to secure all incoming cash from player sales then that's not enough even if he does succeed on that. The move forward he's saying he's looking for from the platform we now have isn't going to be achieved with another £5M net spend this summer.

The way I see it is that David Moyes is THE most important person at Everton and he talks about doing the best thing for Everton, well I say he can use his power to place tremendous pressure on the baoird to get some outside investment in or to at least offer to generate cash in-house through a share issue or sort out a bond scheme or something of that nature.

That's his duty as a long serving manage who's earned the right to speak his mind. The fact he wont do that is an abdication of responsibility on his part. He needs to get up off the floor grubbing around and pleading for pennies from his own generated sales and start holding the feet of the board of directors to the fire.

I take your point but I am loathed to place a dig at Moyes. You are right he is the most important person at Everton, by a stretch. He is driving for cash for the playing squad. He gets on with BK and won't stab him in public. He does seem to be making a stand tough and I applaud him for that. If Moyes loses Fellaini and JH and tops up the budget to say 25m+ then I wouldn't trust another manager to spend it better.

Situations change and it seems that since the Wigan defeat when the tide turned a little against moyes and I posted on here even his people (his brother) were saying it'd been mishandled it seems there has been a PR campaign to reposition moyes. The question is whether moyes is trying to reclaim the moral high ground because this is what his contract dispute is about or it's about him protecting himself .

That's a decision for the fans to make. My question would be if kenwright gave moyes the assurances he wants (whatever they are) but man united, city, Chelsea , arsenal or spurs made a formal approach for moyes as manager would he stay ? If the answer is no then it's not about money it's about whether anyone else wants him.

End of the day, Moyes is moving onto the next level and he is waiting to see if Everton are coming with him or if he has to leave us behind to continue his journey with someone else.... and you really can't blame the man.

And this is not him trying to be bigger than the club, it is him trying to drag the club back to where it belongs.

Why the brinkmanship which with every crap game brings the charge of his contract issue affecting things?

Could have been sorted in house last season without all this nonsense however Moyes wouldn't be in the headlines advertising himself like a cheap sofa at the Bank Holiday sales.

Simply can't be arrgued he's doing anything else but looking after number one.

yes it can. It has been throughout this thread. Just because I don't agree with you doesn't make me wrong. Just makes us not agree.

Of course it can.

There's 2 distinctly different possible scenarios here, to suggest that there's only 1 possibility is totally incorrect.

As he could either be holding out for assurances about funding, or he could he waiting to see what's available to him personally outside of EFC. If it's the former then good on him, if it's the latter then maybe it's time he moved on.

Massively doubt it's the former now, simply because there's nothing that could possibly change between now and the end of the season.

To be honest, as soon as the transfer window shut and he hadn't signed a contract I knew he was preparing to angle for a managerial Bosman, and everything that's happened since then hasn't changed my mind.

Agree with nigel, he's looking after number one, waving his arse in the air like a cat on heat, looking for a taker. If there isn't one and his contract expires, Moyes is now in a situation where he eats humble pie and accepts the indignity of another contract with lowly Everton, or he's unemployed and joins the managerial merry go round, looking for a vacancy. And he's got nobody else but himself to blame for this situation, it could have been handled a lot better and he didn't help himself at all with his comments towards the start of the season about "five minutes" etc.

That won't mean Kenwright should get away scot free with this. If Moyes walks, it WILL be to do with no funds for players, but it won't be the only reason - I think Moyes would stay if promised an investment of £15m approx. Therefore there should be protests against Bill. There won't be, but there should. Everton should not be his toy train set anymore.

The latter is looking after himself as I suggest.

Regarding transfer budget what was there preventing a contract inclusive of such matters been drawn up in house last season?

could be any one of a thousand reasons.
the new tv deal was only announced last june. So giving the board a few months to plan how it will get broken down takes us to the start of this season.
