Everton´s Reserve Team Coach Alan Stubbs has sought to offer some clarity on the future of Everton Manager David Moyes.
Speaking in February David Moyes insisted he would not commit his future to the Club until the end of the season, explaining "I´ve spoken with the chairman and I want to see how the team do. I want to see how we do in the cups and the league and it is more than likely that I won´t make a decision until the end of the season".
But, speaking to TalkSport, Alan Stubbs thinks Everton´s finish to the season will prove irrelavent as to whether David Moyes remains at Everton.
Alan Stubbs: "It’s irrelevant where Everton finish in terms of whether David Moyes stays. The manager would love to finish in fourth place because that would get them into the Champions League.
"But the decision is more off the pitch rather than on the pitch. It will be about his budget. He’ll want assurances about what players get sold and the amount of money that he’ll get to spend from those transfers.
"He wants to see the direction that the club is taking before he commits his future to it. It’s a crossroads for the board as well, not just the manager."

That bit is depressing.

Bills not going to budge is he.... so we are playing russian roullete with our future in the summer.

Especially with the new TV deal, the board can't hide behind not having money to spend anymore, because every club will be getting a massive increase.

Very true.

Just wish he'd said this in January time. None of this, see where we are in the league and cups rubbish, just a 'back me or i'm off' message would have done.

Hard to say that in public though, he may well have said it behind closed doors.

We shall see ! Still don't think he'll leave myself.

If Moyes' future depends on the board's performance then it's safe to say he's off.

I wouldn't even mind so much if the new money was used to begin re-developing Goodison, but there's more chance of the manager being given a positive net spend than that happening.
