Come on lads, it's time for the wailing an gnashing of teeth to stop.

It was another loss to a decent bunch of Liverpool players with a pretty untalented Everton team.

This is what happens with the Everton team erected in the last 3 seasons or so with too much cash. This is the Zombie Everton lingering on.

Let's hand Carlo the tools to transform us and get these players out and his own better quality players in.

I dont even consider this ground zero. That happened weeks ago at Anfield with that 5-2 mauling. Decisions were taken then which ended up with us having a genius manager in our dugout. As long as he's backed, he'll get us our position and status back in a couple of seasons.

Five or six of Ancelotti type players in to add to a small handful of the current lot and we'll be a different proposition next season. It's going to get better. Much, much better.
@davek, this has to be the best post you have ever posted (apart from the ones winding up the RS lurkers of course).

You're right, whilst this result is difficult to take, we have to look forward, CA must know now where we are crap and which of this bunch he can work with. Lets hope Uzzy has very deep pockets stuffed full of cash for Everton to spend.

My worry is we get dragged onto a relegation battle

The teams below us are all picking up points and as we stand we are 5 points off the bottom 3, After today I wouldn't trust any of these lot in a dog fight
Said it for a while. We just need to get safe for this season. Hopefully some decent signings in pre season lik a cm who can spot a pass a goalscorer and Ancellotti's team to get this lot fit and hopefully we get a lot better

This is the Everton team that Ancelotti has to demolish. It's like a rotten corpse: Zombie Everton I called it, and I think that's appropriate.

What we're looking at is the past. It's upsetting having to watch them until next season, but we all knew when Ancelotti came there'd be a reckoning in the short term.

I would honestly pay clubs to take the crap players from us and let Ancelotti build from now. Wholesale changes are not normally a good thing in a transfer window but I cannot stand having to watch our midfield for another game. It is so painful to watch them wandering around the pitch like little lost souls. No fight, no backbone, no energy, little in the ways of footballing ability also. I would happily bin them all off and start with an entirely new midfield come Brighton.

If Ancelotti didn't realise the extent of the job he has on his hands, today would have just blown him away. He should be on the phone to Moshiri and Usmanov demanding a whole new team after that absolute shambles

agree with everything here dave the also the ancelotti type players need to be got in by ancelotti not brands.we have a squad of players put together by different managers and directors of football not a team as such individuals who play with no co-hesion no togetherness. Schneiderlin siggurdsson are the worst of the lot they need shipping out with a lot more.we need the manager to sign players he wants to build a team. not try and make players brands signs play as a team. you can't get a joiner to hang a door with a plasterers trowel.
Absolutely spot on.

It's a patchwork quilt.

November 1970 was not in the 1969/70 title winning season. The 3-2 loss was November 1970.
he shears all over the place with that humiliation my older brother remembers when we tools weakened team to Anfield maybe 1964 that team won 4-0 - herdmembers the sight of the Kop which held 23 ,000. Emptying as our £10,000 transfer acquisition Moggsy hammered a shot in to nearly burst their net to make it 4- 0
My how times have changed....,,.

I think what was interesting was how there was a clear identity and style that our beloved friends from across the park possessed. They all ran like dogs and pressed in packs of three relentlessly. Notable the youth team players fitted right into that system.

Continuity and a plan. We've just got a right horrible hodge podge of players signed by managers and DOFs who all seemingly have no overlapping style or plan. Get down to the bare bones in midfield and I dont blame Carlo for struggling to get anything out of this group against well drilled, energetic, and confident opponents at a ground where we have a collective mental block for 20yrs.

I hope he's feeling creative trying to get something out of the squad we have. Or he is backed heavily for transfers. Very heavily. We could also do with some quality coming through the youth set up.
