Centre-midfield - we need to take the brakes off

Exactly why I said I am not in favour of signing Barry. We have McC for that role and years are on his side unlike Barry. Seem to recall someone on here commenting on a match that Barry tired and did not have the legs not surprising at 33. If we do sign him up that is if he accepts a much lower wage then one year only please.

Neither of them will ever be good enough for Premier League football, never mind centre-midfield for Everton.

Your powers of deduction are truly awe inspiring. Got the lottery numbers as well? Do you also know what happened to Lord Lucan? Why stop there, how much will a pint of milk be in 6 years?

You're clearly on the ball and I'm sure we'd all like to know the answers. Line em up sir!

I think thats common sense that Junior and Gueye will not be good enough.

In fairness we have seen more to suggest that they wont be good enough, than we have to say they will be...let alone in a position they don't play such as you suggest with Gueye.

First priority should be a striker in my opinion

As already mentioned, we can just move Barkley to CM and then use Naismith as the player behind the striker

I'd rather us spend on a striker and get that covered before we starting spending on another mid fielder

No, that's what we can't. Barkley is no good defensively.
He is a true attacker. Attacking players get easily caught out near their own box, Barkley is one of them.

Tbf, I've got nothing to base an opinion on Junior, but I think it's pretty clear that Gueye's Everton future doesn't look too bright.

I agree, teams are only as good as their strikers.

Sorry I sounded a little blunt mate.

I just can't see Gueye making it because he's so slow. He doesn't play for the U21s or get in the 1st team so I presume Martinez doesn't rate him so will be trying to flog him cheaply in the summer or letting his contact run down.

Meanwhile, Junior couldn't get a game for Vitesse in, albeit a decent team, in Holland. He's very small and from what I've seen from him (I know, only 45 mins against Leeds) he's been poor; not good enough technically or physically. I realise 45 minutes isn't enough to judge a player but he's 22 now so if he was ever going to be good enough for Everton he'd be at least good enough for Vitesse.

Vitesse is full of Chelsea Loanees though mate, so it would always be hard to crack that squad. He's never had anything close to a proper chance here

I think at the age of 22 he'd have probably had a chance by now if he was going to become a decent premier league player though.

I think we need a loan CM next year for a season to go with Gibson, Barry and McCarthy. Then in 2015/16 we should be looking to integrate one of the youngsters; Lundstram or Ledson perhaps.
