Couldn't agree more. For all the wonderful facilities we have brought through Rodwell and Barkley who both looked scared to express themselves. Yet we have supposedly had fabulous teams at youth levels. Kids will make mistakes but you have to learn your trade somewhere. I think Aston Villa is a good example. They have had a very rough season but they will benefit from the young lads getting experience. Some will not make the grade but they have unearthed some gems this year for very little outlay.
Agreed, playing the likes of Lowton, Bennett, Lichaj, Clarke, Westwood, Albrighton and even Delph and Sylla who were brought in are all u23 - will benefit Villa massively in the long run. Remarkable that they did stay up really as all those have featured quite significantly and have little to no experience at this level.
The thing with Mcmannamn is that he was sent out on loan to Blackpool which was the making of him, if we sent more of our good young players out on loan for proper first team action, we'd get more out of them. Only have to look at Lukaku this season
