What will be the outcome?

One thing that annoyed me about the manner of the way Burnley won, that Arfield shouldn't have even been on the pitch.

Booked in the first half. He then produced a foul that was worse than the one he was booked for. He gets a final warning off the ref. But then second half, does another foul that, given what others had been booked for today, should have seen him walk.

Needless to say, he pops and scores the winner.

If we take off our blue tinted glasses for a moment we can see that this team is nowhere near good enough. Out of the back 4 I would keep Williams and possibly Coleman at a push (though he is not as good as people make out and he is brainless). Midfield Gana, Barry for maybe a last season and I think Barkley will eventually come good. Del and Kev are to inconsistent to be useful for a season. Lukaku but of course keeping hold of him is another thing. A lot of work to be done on this bunch and Koeman has a lot of work to do in the transfer market. We are not fluent, mainly because we receive the ball and have to think what to do with it rather than knowing where our players already are, we are too predictable in our play. We now need a midfield maestro to dictate our play and play killer balls and we need defenders that can defend first and foremost. Quick thinking players is a must. Going to cost a fortune and will take a few years to do. We have to be patient because these players just don't cut it.

Williams (short term)
Gana
Barkley
Deulofeu (needs to play every game)
Lukaku

For me they stay and we need to bring in players around them.

Holgate man of the match and dropped.
Davies looking exciting and dropped.

If Koeman stays to revamp the team he will sign 27+ years old short term players who will be 30+ years old when he leaves.

We need Unsworth to come in and get the players excited and to play with passion and smiles on their faces. He showed hes not afraid to play the kids against Norwich and hes doing so well with them and even Niasse this season.

We need to build a young team to grow together for success but instead are seeing long ball and negative boring play.

Funny when you think about it.

We spent 40 odd million in the summer and yet literally have no impact subs or anyone to make any difference to a game. Anyone who comes on is worse than who is on the pitch.

Same old Everton, sadly it doesn't p me off like it used to.

Utterly abhorrent reffing performance cost us today

We did enough to get something from that today, so it's hard to take that we didn't

Gut punch, but we have to dust ourselves down and take it to The Hammers next week
Just to put it to you mate, wasn't that the general motto last season as well?

One good signing has been Gana and hopefully Calvert-Lewin...the rest are too short-term or rubbish.

Some weeks, yes, but those sorts of results will always happen in a season

What we haven't done yet under Koeman is chuck away a commanding lead or get utterly pulped by a decent side

Still time though, I guess

He's inherited an underperforming side and is trying to rebuild it. This will take time

That was my point. Drop any player and there isn't a alternative in the squad to come in and do a job that isn't worse. So 20 minutes to go for arguments sake no one on the bench can offer anything else than what we had for the first 70.

Deulofeu who should be starting
Davies should be getting minutes
Holgate should be starting

Other than those 3 youre probably right, though Mori should have started today instead of Jags
