Blue Union Board Angst

I am 4608 miles from Liverpool and even I knew the renewal deadline.

Don't we have a phrase for kopites that apply to this? Something about victims and faults?

How anyone seeing what Kenwright did to Everton for 17 years can believe he hung in there to make the best handover is beyond me. We stood still in an era when money was falling out of the trees...worse, he had Everton holding fire sales and in debt up to their eyeballs.
Dave, has anyone ever accused you of being a lizard?

Anybody who missed the deadline is an utter clown, adverts all over social media, adverts at every single game at Goodison, emails.

I even got an email off the club reminding me to renew, then they sent me another 1 a few hours later saying "sorry, we noticed you had already renewed, ignore our last email".

If they missed it, TOUGH.

I was sick of hearing about season ticket renewal deadline!

In previous years the club have extended deadlines - they shouldn't this time, more so given there's a waiting list.
The world and his wife knew about the deadline.

What's their gripe in a desperate attempt to remain relevant this time?

TBF what Dave is saying about Kenwright is bang on the money. Of the 6 teams who've been ever present in the Premier League we are the worst off. He has to take the blame for such an appalling lack of investment.

We had an actual website set up about how many years, months, weeks and days it was since we had signed a first team player for actual cash.

In this cash rich league, that is unacceptable.

Like to agree with Davek for once about Kenwrights and the criminal lack of investment in our club, but he won't hear it as he I think he has me on ignore . That's fine but that's my argument with Davek, much as I agree with him over Kenwright, it's the opposite with Moshiri. He's like a breath of fresh air compared to the old regime, we are never reffered to as " Cash strapped Everton " anymore. We are definitely on the rise, ground improvements, long term debt paid off, ala through interest free loan, like Sir John Moore's used to do and a new stadium on the horizon on the banks of the Royal Blue Mersey.

This is a brilliant rewriting of history.

Firstly the BU are about as relevant to anything that has or ever will go on at Everton as an umbrella would be going scuba diving.

Secondly why is everyone talking about Bill like hes still not part of the club, he is still chairman and a significant shareholder. Thirdly and critically would we be in this position now in terms of investment without him? Other owners have sold their clubs down the river and are languishing in the nether regions of the championship: Fulham, Villa, Blackburn etc, takeover many coveted on here. Bill as promised held his powder and made a decision on what seems to be the right investor, one good for the long term future of the club, paid of debts, invested in players, new sponsorship, new ground. He always maintained his model was never to, or rather could not compete with other owners in terms of investment in the club. He maintained he was a custodian with Evertons welfare at heart and if someone better came along he would bring them in. Has he fulfilled that promise?

It would seem so. If you want to judge him Vs Abromavich he will not come of favorably, he was however clear he was never that type of owner, was he a good custodian and protected the welfare of the club? It certainly seems so in the vacuum of the progress we are making now with the investment he brought in.

Muppets. I live all the way over in New Zealand and I was still getting saturated with emails, Facebook ads, the lot as to when the final date for renewal was.

Kenwright dosent have to take the blame for anything, you make it sound like everything was great at Everton before he took over, then he took us backwards.
As you say only 6 have manged to stay in the premier league, I'd rather be the worse of those then the best of the rest of them, if it was that simple why have clubs like Villa, Newcastle, Leeds and several others not manged to hang on? Badly run by the man/men at the top that's why, we really don't know how lucky we are to have been taken over by an Evertonian who made sure the club came first and he kept his promise to find a suitable buyer.

There's a simple yardstick: rich people dont have your best interests to the fore. Dont trust them because some time soon they will screw you over, and that holds true for football club owners.

Anyone looking closely at the Moshiri situation has to see what I see: a man who'll use cash that isn't his own to keep the club ticking over in the transfer market and who'll gamble with the club's financial well being for a couple of generations in order to get a stadium in place that will boost his chances of walking away with a massive profit.

If you dont see that then you haven't got your eyes open.

Liver Buildings, transferring long term debt, "improved" commercial deals...all nonsense designed to distract.

We'll finally see what he's doing this summer. Net spend in his first season in control is down on the previous two seasons before he arrived. And I'm convinced the sale of Lukaku plus Deulofeu and a couple of others will make up the vast majority of this summer's spending money, with another poor net spend. Then maybe more people will have the scales fall from their eyes.

Sick of people chatting about net spend now. We sold a liability in Stones, and over the season have significantly strengthened our squad. Roll on the summer I say, where we'll be less restricted by FFP and STCC due to not having a massive net spend
