Blue Union Board Angst

First point, I couldn't care less whether it's 5,10 or 40 years. We will own it and the stadium will be there for generations to come.

The second is just incorrect. We retain control over our finances. We just have to pay the money back, same as any loan/mortgage.
We dont.

The proposed security package comprises:

  •  EFC opening two bank accounts in EFC’s name, but charged in favour of the LCC SPV.

  •  The first account (Cash Flow Account) will be used as security for the payment of the rent in the Occupational Lease by EFC. All season ticket revenue, hospitality fees and naming rights income will be credited to this account. EFC are only entitled to access and use the funds once the rent for the forthcoming year has been paid.

Yes, I've read that. Your definition of "finances", is too narrow in your statement of not having control.

We have lots of other financial revenue streams, not included in the above.

At best you could say we have some reduced control over a proportion of our finances.

But you can in effect, say this with any secured loan.

In theory I have full control over all my finances, and could just not pay my mortgage next month. However the security means the bank will take my house and sell it. Effect is the same.

Did Arsenal put the cash up for the Emirates?
Has Levy put his hand is his pocket to pay for the new stadium?
Will Abramovich pay for Chelsea's new stadium in cash?
Did Bayern Munich pay for the Allianz in cash?

No, no, no and no.
Chelseas owner is 10X as rich as Moshiri and he's been there 13 years and they're no closer to a new stadium than us. City's owners wouldn't of touched them with a pooey stick if it wasn't for the commonwealth games stadium.

I've asked this a few times and none of the critics have even attempted an answer, but who (if anyone) has purchased a club in one stadium and then purchased them a new stadium elsewhere?
