There's an added edit, which may or may not be true...maybe

Just seen this

Lease,In real terms,
1) who else are they going to get to play there
2) If they don't have us, what are they going to do with it
3) Businesses don't buy if they can help it they lease...

3a) You pay a monster amount up front to buy, that comes out of your pocket = your 'loss'
3b) you pay rent/lease - it's an expense, thus deductible.

In short, yes. It's a sophisticated (and better) financial vehicle to get the stadium built. It means Moshiri can spend more on the squad, or finance with more reasonable interest rates (no need to hike ticket prices), or both. More importantly, it means that the club should not be leveraged to the hilt to get the stadium built.

Maybe more importantly, it's a financial product that's within Moshiri's wheelhouse. This means he's putting substantial mental (and emotional?) effort into making this deal work. He's not throwing around mi££ions in sacks to get the job done, but it's part of a carefully thought out plan for the club as he sees it.

I think you'll find I said in my original post, should try reading instead of jumping straight in

Oh dear. Here's what you said previously about KEIOC

"This site is quite funny, people have their blinkers on and no matter what someone posts to summarise the actions of the club, the said peron is vilified. But the response will never be in line with the initial post, it'll just be a ridiculous comment, or a link wiki or some other useless website. It amazes that people will listen to KEIOC, like they are know all of business, when in reality they're own a market stall in Williamson Square." December 10th 2012.

"Again, hard to disagree with any of that, in particular this. I've never liked either of these [KEIOC and BU], they are very much about "look at us". The stuff about Moshiri being another Earle got my back up straight away, literally days after being annouced they were on it in a negative way."

But now they stopped Kirkby happening and they're ok but the BU still aren't.

A Damascene conversion, eh Chris?

Maybe the BU will be similarly rehabilitated some time.

Exposing Kenwright for the weird megalomaniac that he is was the best thing the Blue Union ever did.

People go on about it spoiling the fans' chances of having an open line of communication with the club, as though Bill and the gang would have sold up and cleared off if we asked them politely.

lollol Jesus Dave, I'm referring to the post in this thread and you're pulling something up from a year ago. Where have I said I liked KEIOC, like I've said I was against Kirkby but that's about

How exactly are we tenants and not owners?

I'm a home owner, paying off a loan (mortgage) then the house is mine.

I could pay rent until I'm blue in the face but that property would never be mine.

That's in theory what is happening via SVP for 40 years, the funder owns the stadium until the lease is paid off. Peel still own the lease hold of the land and have issued 200 year lease.

That's my take on it

Also Ian, I think the fact that therm lease has been used 3 different times has lent some confusion. The lease for the stadium i.e. the 40 year one is referred to in this terminology because we have the option to buy at the end of term, rather than owning at the end (like with a loan/mortgage)

Anybody who missed the deadline is an utter clown, adverts all over social media, adverts at every single game at Goodison, emails.

I even got an email off the club reminding me to renew, then they sent me another 1 a few hours later saying "sorry, we noticed you had already renewed, ignore our last email".

If they missed it, TOUGH.
