Black Saturday

Where on earth do you begin with that?

Needless sending off, two goal lead blown by hopeless defending, and one of our players seriously injured.

I cant think of too many more deflating days in the recent past as this one today. Gutting on every single level.

*Delete if necessary mods. I'm just thinking there might be a need for a generic thread that's devoted to this game outside of the football dimension.
Unfriendly reminder that we bottled it against Bournemouth under Martinez and drew 3-3. And this time we got a ton of extra time added and didn't end up losing, even minus Richarlison. These guys beat us away last season and they are comeback kings.

I'm annoyed, but worse has happened and at least we'll get to see what Digne can do. Also, WTAF is Baines doing as captain? I like him but he's too quiet, we need someone more outgoing. And we'd have won if it hadn't been for him, the fool.

August 25th 2018 shalt henceforth be remembered in the annals of Everton history as Black Saturday, one of the darkest days in the club's existence, when they uncharacteristically let a 2 goal lead slip against the might of Bournemouth. A sad chapter in the history of this once great club. RIP.

Baines and Davies were both enjoying themselves far too much at the third kit launch during the week. That's in jest but we don't have enough guys at the moment with the requisite leadership and discipline.

In that sense, it was disappointing to see Richarlison as a Silva signing, give the referee such easy ammunition.

It will be interesting to see if the other new signings will have a positive impact, in terms of being demanding of themselves and others.

You would think so, with three of them coming from Barca but then again, Gomes for one probably isn't too keen on verbals flying in the dressing room.

My lad broke his collarbone on the pitch today. Horrendous day for him but he was content with a point for Everton today, told me that in A&E.

Black Saturday my hole @davek.

I reckon I would have been reasonably content too if I'd not known the score amd been told it was 2-2.

But it always feels far worse when you chuck it away like that after doing all the hard.

FFS do some people actually think I equate real life tragedy or setbacks with drawing a game of football?

It's a title conveying the mood of a football club that just suffered three outrageously bad blows in 90 minutes. But you knew that...and I'M the drama queen.

It’s an all too familiar feeling to every other transition. We just threw away points to effin Bournemouth!
Yeah we did, and Man City drew

yeah we did bud, but Man City drew with Wolves and they are champions! We are still effectively watchin Koemans / Fat Sams team, i expect them to drop points! We are all old enough and wise enough to know this team is in rebuild mode surely? Davek speaks a lot of sense most times, but this is frankly hysteria!

Bit crazy to compare it to atrocities and deaths, isn't it
Anyway more seriously to your point: I thought that at 10 men we'd lose the game, or draw it at best, but then when we went 1-0 up and 2-0 I thought this was a new Everton. on balance Baines and now maybe Keane are from the bottler generation, and their experience is Long but not successful. Zouma at 23, even Holgate seem to be tougher. I think Coleman is untouchable, but he might be feeling the pressure of Jonjoe Kenny, the first real challenge he's had? Haven't seen any highlights or watched it live today, though, but it really doesn't seem as bad as Black Saturday - we have had worse
