Big Dunc testimonial - EFC vs Villareal at Goodison, Sun Aug 2nd

It's not anti-martinez. Well it might be for Saint-Domingo but not me. It's anti-status quo. Even with everyone fit (I don't include Pienaar and Gibson because they will never be fit for any length of time) we have only Deulofeu and Mirallas for the wings that are in any way decent plus only one striker. That's the reality and due to this we don't create any chances. Is that Martinez's fault? Is it the boards? Do we need to sell someone to strengthen these areas? I don't know what the answer to these questions are but those question need to be asked now while we can still in theory fix them.
No use looking to them. It's not like we got £35M in spending money this summer. All the other clubs did but Everton didn't.

I reckon our board, and Mr Elstone in particular, should get in touch with the telly people and tell them we should get that £35M too. It's not fair.

Expect new faces in soon

Martinez said at his press conference after Duncan Ferguson’s testimonial match against Villarreal: “We know we need two to three new players and we are going to make sure we get the right ones.

“We are looking for that area [up front], the number 10 position, and I think we need a centre-half; the three areas are quite clear.

Got any links to that?

Hopefully this will calm the folks down who seem to think we're not going to buy anyone else...

I think I may actually be over my deep seated anger towards Rooney. The disappointment and sense of loss remain and it was bittersweet watching him play in the blue shirt knowing it wasn't to last (deja vu), but he is still clearly an Evertonian.

If at all possible I'd have him back in a heartbeat (just not when he's in the twilight of his career).
Glad I didn't go to see this mate as I honestly wouldn't know what to make of it.

I found it quite hard mate, I was always going to be there as Dunc is my hero but I didn't know how I would feel about Rooney. I genuinely believe that had he stayed that I would have loved him as much as the big man.

In the end it was all about Dunc though, with a nice show of respect towards Rooney for being there and an acknowledgement that we have maybe mellowed towards him a little bit.

It must have been hard for him to do that knowing how the crowd could have reacted so fair play to him.

He would fit in perfectly behind Lukaku though which is probably the most frustrating thing about today.
