Barry really isn't a weak link. I'm the first to give him stick if he deserves it, but he's looked sharp this pre-season. I think Cleverley (and a fit Besic) give us two really good options which means Barry won't play every game, and also will have to play at his best to keep in the starting XI.
He's been decent since about January with the odd bad game. Our problems aren't in that area of the pitch.

Being serious, Dunc looked fit. You see so many ex players thicken, but he looked like a player. Not sure if he could last more than 20 minutes though.

But startling that he was better than a full time professional footballer.

I genuinely smiled at the cheer when he won that first knock-on header...one thing I will never deny, though, is that he infuriated me just about as much as made me happy, in his playing days.

Frightening. Vic go?
Yep. Saw Woolly and Mikey Fitz.

I'm actually gutted we can't play Rooney and Duncan this season. They seemed to put the effort in. I can't get over how dreadfully absent Kone is. Cleverly did ok, Seamus seemed very frustrated and Baines was ok. Browning came in and did good and McAleny was ok.

Tim Howard made a couple of decent saves and wasn't really at fault for the goals. Stones and Mirallas were ok till they got knocks.

Jesus Christ, Kone is awful.

Watching Leon Osman play the entire 90 minutes without doing one single thing and occupying the same 3 sq ft of pitch almost gave me an aneurysm. Although Kone did make him look like a world beater

I think what we also learnt (as if we already didn't know it). Osman can't last a whole game, I thought he was decent in the first half but invisible the 2nd. Naismith is poo and can't play out wide so hopefully we might see Deulofeu and Mirallas on the pitch at the same time. If we do I think we will be able to play Cleverly, McCarthy, Barkley or Barry in the midfield and still create chances with those two.

We are a little threadbare because another injury to those two and I fail to see were we create goals.

I think unless we sign someone McAleny might start against Watford.
