If Romelu leaves next Summer (which i think he will), i genuinely think we'll be bringing Rooney in as one of his replacements.
He's 20 goals off the United record, he'll smash that this Season, then come back to where he belongs.

We'll be fine if we manage to link the middle and attacking thirds properly. That might mean a change of tactics or signing a player or two. However we do it, something probably needs to change, as in pre-season, when we've played decent sides, we've played pretty similarly to how we did last year, with many of the same weaknesses.

It'll be a shame if we end up leaving the rest of our business until deadline day and have a poor few opening fixtures like in Martinez' first season, but I suppose if it means we get the right players in, it'll be more than worth it. Lukaku, Barry and McCarthy came in in 2013 and completely rejuvenated our game, which in the opening 3/4 games had looked really slow and predictable.

I'm relatively pleased with the pre-season as we've played some decent opponents who've highlighted our weaknesses and we don't look far off, fitness-wise.

The school of fume, it's on it's way back.

For today, completely unarsed about the result. Thought we played well in parts and when we did, it looked creative and the sort of attacking threat that Lukaku lives off.

Baines, Cleverley, Barry and the likes all tried to play forward balls to Kone but he just looked lost, something that when they do to Rom, he can hold it up.

Basically, we miss Rom and we'll struggle should he be injured for a good period of time so we have to replace Kone. It's imperative we do.

Hopefully Stones and Mirallas' injuries aren't too serious and they're back next week too.

if we can keep rooney and dunc fit we will be okay
To succeed this year we need to bring Duncan on as an 80th minute sub each game, and sign the talented Cypress potato back from Man U.

Pay up Kone's contract, give him a job in the laundry, anything but playing football for us.

Cleverly looked decent though.

Kone was totally outshone by Duncan and a spud.

Being serious, Dunc looked fit. You see so many ex players thicken, but he looked like a player. Not sure if he could last more than 20 minutes though.

But startling that he was better than a full time professional footballer.

He tried more in 6 mins than Kone did in 45+.

He's been given enough benefit of the doubt, I didn't notice a difference after he was subbed off and we had no forward on for a period.
