She is totally desensitized which means she could be dangerous , its a tough one it would set a president if she is allowed back.

As I said above I’m pretty sure loads have come back but without the fanfare , I think it was nearly 500 before Christmas . I’m not sure that may even have specifically been fighters as well rather than brides , not than I’m trying to excuse or minimise her behaviour .

I don’t think there is anyway we can stop her, she’s a British citizen . Whether we have the evidence to charge her when she gets back I’ve no real idea .

I'm not sure mate the 3 loons who they called the beatles I remember two of them have been captured and I think they had their citizenship stripped.

But I could be wrong, its the desensitization that worries me.

First time I've seen you sit on the fence in the Current Affairs Forum Bruce.

I'm surprised. Especially as the subject matter is so contentious.

As complex as it is contentious I imagine. No idea what this woman's story is so can't comment on any of the moral aspect of the story, and I have no real legal background so can't comment on that either. So couldn't really add much to the debate.

Just found this from October 18

Thousands of Isis fighters have already returned to their home countries amid confusion over the number of foreign jihadis remaining in the dwindling caliphate, a new report has found.

Research by The Soufan Centre estimated that at least 425 British Isis members have so far returned to the UK – the largest cohort in Europe.

Out of countries for which data was available, only Turkey (900), Tunisia (800) and Saudi Arabia (760) had larger numbers of returning foreign fighters, according to the study.

Although having had a I think you are right on the ‘Beatles ‘ I’m guessing , although I’m pretty confident , they’ll have been born overseas and become British citizens whereas this girl is just British born and bred. So removing their citizenship makes them revert to their initial nationality.

You must have been out of the country or something at the time mate. It was all over the media. Three young muslim girls (2 x 15 and the third 16 IIRC) running off to Syria to become ISIS wives

Can't help but feel that if she was caucasian then they'd be much more sympathy and a desire to let her come back to UK to hopefully be de-radicalised. Situations like this always bring out the worst in people, the world needs more compassion not division.

If she doesn't come back I won't lose any sleep but if she does then I hope some good can come out of it. The best way to stamp out extremist ideologies is for former radicalists to spread the message in their communities that it's all a lie and not something to ever waste your life supporting.

It rings a bell, but it's not a topic that interests me, so I didn't choose to read/watch stuff on it. It's also possible I was out of the country like, but I doubt I'd have bothered with it even if not. Religious weirdos doing weird stuff is a bit of a yawn.

So you think Mate ? I honestly don’t , I often think there are issues in society with subconscious racism but here I can’t see it or even think that’s what it is . She’s not intending to come back and spread the message you’re suggesting , she seems to think the caliphate was let down by corruption rather than by its barbarism and she’s made no attempt to apologise nor say she was wrong . To many I suggest that’s part of the problem .

Shocking that a least 425 who knows what will happen in the future, as for this girl if you are right about nationality then we might have no choice but to let her back in doesn't feel right though.

She is an enemy of the state. While my heart says let her back for the sake of the child, my brain says no. However I fully expect that she will be brought back and live a comfy life at our expense.......

She's not a former radicalist though, is she?!

I don’t think she’ll be brought back in that i’m Not sure what help she’ll be given , and rightly so. however I just don’t see how we can stop her returning to her country or birth any more than they could stop you or me returning as I don’t the legislation exists to prevent it . I do hope that if possible and practical the law deals with her appropriately and that her child’s welfare both physical and emotionally is ensured .

...it’s an emotive one. Would she be coming back if she wasn’t pregnant? Is she a supporter of the regime she joined? I know some think she’s coming back for a life on benefits, with the state paying for he rent and income.

I like to think i’m a socialist and support the girl’s decision to come home but I understand the how perturbed some people are.

Extremist ideologies will never be stamped out for as long as there are people on this earth. They can be reduced but they will never be removed completely.

She isn't a former radicalist though either. She knew the consequences of her actions when she was 15, and she still says she doesn't regret her decision to join IS. She even seems to be bragging about how she wasn't phased by some of the horrific stuff she's seen over there.
