Extremist ideologies will never be stamped out for as long as there are people on this earth. They can be reduced but they will never be removed completely.

She isn't a former radicalist though either. She knew the consequences of her actions when she was 15, and she still says she doesn't regret her decision to join IS. She even seems to be bragging about how she wasn't phased by some of the horrific stuff she's seen over there.

I think slightly differently to you only in that she was 15 when she went to Syria . for example we’re currently seeing the police take a different view towards those who are underage who are involved in county lines dealing and certainly in terms of girls of that age who are groomed or involved in abuse .

However her age at the time doesn’t give her a free pass , she’s currently 19 and seems to be perfectly happy with the choices she made . Hopefully later in life she’ll realise she was groomed and taken advantage of and obviously I'm not in possession of all the facts but I certainly wouldn’t be comfortable giving her a get out of jail free card on the basis that she was a child when she travelled there , plenty of 15 year olds are arrested and punished for varying degrees of offending .

It rings a bell, but it's not a topic that interests me, so I didn't choose to read/watch stuff on it. It's also possible I was out of the country like, but I doubt I'd have bothered with it even if not. Religious weirdos doing weird stuff is a bit of a yawn.
I'd argue terrorism is a bit more than religious weirdos doing weird stuff mate, especially if you're unlucky enough to be on the wrong end of it.

She was groomed, and should have the chance of rehabilitation if possible.

She’s shown absolutely no interest in rehabilitation though and clearly she can’t be forcibly rehabilitated, she thinks the caliphate was a good thing and if anything only let down by corruption. So what do we do , wait until she wants to realise or hope she does . I appreciate as can try through the prevent strategy so that’s an option .

As regards her being groomed how long does that remove her from responsibility for her actions ? This isn’t a pointed question by the way , it’s genuine . I don’t know but she’s currently 19 , what about when she’s 21 , 23 , 25 ? Ultimately grooming or not she has to have a responsibility for her actions . I’m not even sure I’m comfortable with my own opinion on this to be honest though .

Aye, I edited my post to add the caveat "whether rehabilitation is possible is another question".

Is she married? Like I am no expert on Muslim law/protocol, if thats the right phrase, but she is carrying her 3rd child at age 19.

Bearing in mind she is heavily pregnant, is technically a Brit, and I assume she has family here, the compassionate part of me would be to ensure the health of the innocent unborn is priority #1.

How the girl is then treated I will leave to others more engaged in it.

He husband is a jihadi and has I think been captured no idea if she’s been widowed before or if he’s still alive .

Can't help but feel that if she was caucasian then they'd be much more sympathy and a desire to let her come back to UK to hopefully be de-radicalised. Situations like this always bring out the worst in people, the world needs more compassion not division.

Good old Anglo Saxons call it being groomed as a child and then developing a form of Stockholm syndrome...

If she is open to rehabilitation and remorse can't see any issue in letting her back into the UK. But surely she must accept close monitoring by security services and child services for some time to come!

She has 'no regrets'. She may have a British passport, but she hates Britain.

Absolute insanity to let her back in.

She has turned her back on modern liberal democracy, and all the values we hold dear.

She hates other women, Jews, LGBT people, and anyone who is not Muslim.

She has demonstrated that she is willing to support terrorism, and she laughs at liberals who support her.

The problem she has is that doing this - quitting the land of the Muslims and returning to the lands of unbelief - is to her and the people she went to live with an act of apostasy; they (IS) executed a lot of people for even attempting it.
