Had they actually committed a crime here though.? If they had I believe we would want to prosecute them ourselves. Having links to Al Qaeda makes them undesirables (not sure if that's even a word) and would involve our security services having to monitor them, so I'm not surprised we were looking to deport them.

Yes, they were involved in a direct terror plot in the UK.

Involved.

The point still stands with regards to this girl though. If it was the other way round we would look to deport her

I’m not saying your wrong but Can you link the case mate because I’ll be honest I find that really hard to believe . If there is sufficient evidence to charge I’ve never heard or read of this country passing over responsibility and simply deporting the offenders .

I can’t link anything unfortunately.

Is it this one ? Because this talks about links and suspected rather than involved . I just think that’s a key difference obviously given the debate because involved you’d think would lead to charges .

Six Algerian terror suspects with links to Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda are to be allowed to stay in Britain after the Home Secretary admitted defeat in a ten-year legal battle to deport them.

The move follows a challenge under the Human Rights Act which found that the men were at risk of torture if they were deported to Algeria

The Telegraph understands that Theresa May will not appeal against a decision by the Special Immigration Appeals Commission (SIAC), effectively granting them the right to live in the UK.

It is a major blow to the Government’s counter-terrorism policy and the Home Office’s ability to deport terror suspects to countries with dubious human rights records.

The cost of keeping the suspects under surveillance could be as high as £10 million a year.

The failed legal action to deport them – described in court as “by any standards, exceptionally long and fraught” – is likely to have cost at least a further £1 million.

The men, all alleged to have links to al-Qaeda, are deemed a threat to national security. One is linked to a UK terror plot while another is said to be a leading organiser for plots overseas who had “direct links” to bin Laden.

Another is alleged to be an associate of Abu Hamza, the radical preacher serving a jail sentence in the US for terrorism.

They cannot be identified for legal reasons and are now living in England on strict bail conditions.

The UK Government had been relying on a system of diplomatic assurances from Middle East countries that none of the men would face torture on their return.

But the judges said in a ruling last month: “It is not inconceivable that these Appellants, if returned to Algeria, would be subjected to ill-treatment infringing Article 3 [of the Human Rights Act]. There is a real risk of such a breach.”

A Home Office spokesman said: “We are extremely disappointed with SIAC’s judgment. Our priority remains the safety and protection of the British public and we will continue to take every measure possible to remove foreign nationals who we deem a risk.”

I'm sorta shocked at the response.

She was groomed and raped by vile extremists. We should be supporting her and her child's return.

I can only see from the outside but i’d Certainly say the evidence would indicate she was groomed , in fact the Commissioner at the time said she was and he’d know .

However, and I’ve said this in the thread before . my point is there has to be a line where the responsibility switches to her whatever she’s been through . Those involved in county lines dealing as children are treated as victims but it doesn’t give them a permanent get out of jail card for such offences . Many perpetrators of sexual abuse have themselves been victims as children , many young offenders of such offences have been victims but a point comes when they have a personal responsibility. Whilst I don’t dismiss what’s happened nor do I advocate half of what some people go on about she’s now an adult and therefore faces the consequences of that . If she returns home and is tried then this should and in this country would be considered in the sentencing . We’ve already had terrorists in this country who’ve been groomed , including several younger than her now and I I suspect more that just aren’t receiving the media attention .

What are you defining as victim and member in your scenario.

There is probably a large intersection of people that could be classified as both.
Victim as in someone who has been hurt or lost loves ones / friends to isis ( or any terrorists). Had there homes ,towns and lives destroyed etc .

Member anyone involved in that organisation . Lie with dogs you get flea’s..
