Berbatov

When it comes down to it, ignoring the major roadblocks like his wage demands, him probably not wanting to step down from United to us and so on...

He doesn't run everywhere all the time, so Moyes would never sign him. Work rate > quality in Ginge's eyes.

I agree on the wages thing. We will be shifting Yak, Yobo and maybe Heitinga off the current bill though. Perhaps he's settled in the area and the prospect of joining former United players Saha, Neville and Howard would help to persuade him that it wouldn't be such a step down?

None of them were United players whilst Berba was there, though, so I don't see how that could help...

although I suppose they could say "hey, the step down has its perks!"

Right, guys i know i'm a cynical, frustrating whopper at times, but seriously......ambition overload.

Berbatov is still good enough to play for a Champions League team and command a hefty salary, we might sign him when he's 35 after a short spell in the MLS.

I don't mean in terms of him having a friendship with them, but that he could look at how they've thrived at Everton after leaving United.

I sense Berbs has an ego, though. And he probably feels he can do better.

Because he can do better.

Thrived in what sense ? Regular playing time...What ?

Come off it. Nev's become captain, Howard's strung together umpteen consecutive seasons and gone on to be regarded as one of the finest keepers in the league (outside of our fanbase, anyway!) and no.1 for his country and Saha has become our key striker. Although he only plays half the time, like.

I admit that it is ambitious. I do think that his time is up at United though. He was streets ahead in the scoring charts and still struggled to get a game ahead of Hernandez. Spurs might possibly want him back. We'd head the rest of the chasing pack I would have thought though.

Redknapp wants a striker, he wants experience and he has a history of taking old players back. You'd imagine they'd be favourites. We would certainly be lucky to get him, but I like to think that Moyes would give him a decision to make.

Spurs is a very good shout. If I was a betting man I'd stick a tenner on that.

So.....just the regular playing time then ?
