I think Beni should go next to Davies if we were going to play that. Think he offers more going forward than Gueye. Protects the ball really well, and does make a forward pass if he can. He's very good at wriggling away from tackles it seems, then moving the ball on and not getting carried away trying to take on the whole team it seems.
Gueye isn't disciplined enough plus we need someone who can play through the centre otherwise everything just gets moved to the wings where it breaks down because our fullbacks are poor.

I know the results haven't gone our way but you can see glimmers of hope of how we should be playing and who should be in the team. If he picks this team every week I have no doubt we would soon start climbing the table.

With Coleman and Bolasie back plus a new LB, backup RB, CB and ST our first team would look a whole lot different.

Unfortunately those are the same positions we needed to strengthen in the summer and instead bought a whole load of poor attacking midfielders so who knows what these muppets will do.

Gueye offers nothing from an attacking point of view. Look at the chance last night.

I would rather give Klassen ago in front of Davies & beni.
Still can’t believe he’s getting a new 5 yr contract at 28, let’s hope it’s to sell him on at a good price. Don’t rate him as a footballer.
Actually I wouldn't be against trying Klassen but we have to get out of the 4-2-3-1 formation. It requires fullbacks to give width and ours are rubbish plus I think it's been found out. A lot of the top teams are actually moving towards 4-4-2 but that would be suicide with our defence.

Heard that lad Barry at WBA is decent at that....

At least it will be a surprise.

Like unwrapping a lump of coal on Xmas morning... :o

A star in the making in my eyes.

Thrown under the bus to start against two very hard away games, I think Unsworth personally should've used more experienced players against Chelsea and Lyon but that's me personally.

This lad has looked head and shoulders over Gueye, Davies and Schneiderlin.

He has done his worked so hard for Everton!

Top top player who will only get better.

Wow this is definitely not over the top.

Our main 3 CM's just don't offer an attacking threat. End of discussion.

Gueye - he's a defensive midfielder who can tackle and intercept the ball. Attacking wise not so good.
Davies - whether you like it or not, he's far too slow and completely naive on the ball. Also one of the worst tacklers in the team.
Morgan - Mentally gone. Shadow of the player he was when we signed him.

Think it's time for Klaassen/Besic to have a run out in the team.

I heard we regret letting him go.

Which shows how bad MS has been because Barry isn't good enough now. Pulis is getting the best out of him but I doubt he would be as good for anyone else.

Would far more prefer to play Beni and see him develop.

Our centre mids are all poor when it comes to offering something going forward. And I include McCarthy and besic in that.

Davies & beni are kids, though Davies has been poor this season

I suppose saying give Klassen a go in midfield shows how desperate I am.

You can just about get away with 2 centre mids, who offer nothing, if you have a brilliant 4 in front of them. Bit like Liverpool & Arsenal. Sadly we have got that attacking quality.

x2 and I like the kid. This is not the time to have him out there. Feel the same way about Kenny, but we simply don't have a better alternative at RB.
He has been our best player every game he has played.

The only times when not to play kids is if they are 1. not ready / not good enough and 2. have a dip in form.

Messi, Rooney etc were important players for their clubs by that age.

We always do this with our young stars. People said the same about Rooney and then we sold him and Sir Alex played him in practically every game until he retired. If he's good enough we won't need to protect him.

Put it this way if it was down to me and I had one home game in the premiership which may decide my future then I wouldn't play Klassen.

If I knew I had the job permanently then I would at least try him alongside either Gueye or Davies with Beni behind. At Ajax he was meant to be amazing in the air coming from deep and frankly we miss someone to do that. The problem is he has been so bad every game he has played. New signings don't get hooked at half time if they aren't truly dreadful and the manager has no faith in them.

My outlook is based on our depth at that position. We have too many other options where taking the risk with such a raw young player isn't worth it. Again, I like the kid... but based on how we're playing I'd go with someone with more experience.

If he's our best player in that position would you not be taking more of risk not playing him?

I know that's a bold statement but he really does look a class above anyone else apart from Ross.
