Baxter? How did he do?

But we have no choice in the matter at the moment.

But I do think in the long run this may be a blessing in disguise. At least thats what I convincing myself at the moment.

He has talent, but he just isn't the player we need at the moment because he's not ready.

I disagree, we need talented players. Baxter is talented and is going to be a star this season. I may even place a bet at the bookies on him scoring 10 goals or more this season. Its going to happen, he will be regular next season without a shadow of a doubt.

The lad looks geniunely class. But i'm not putting pressure on him, he's only 16 and nowhere near as special as Rooney was then. But he does look a class act, one step ahead of most players.

Rodwell will be fine. Anyone who has seen him play will agree to this. Just remember the prem is a whole new game compared to ressie games. He just needs to settle in. ( just like jags last season, and he was a seasoned pro)

Baxter, well....Ive heard really good things about the kid. Both him and Rodwell have been compared to Rooney when they was all around 14/15 years old. And my contacts say the back room staff rate them more highly than that fat cu*t.

What am tryin to say is......is the kids we had on the bench are no mugs, they are all class. Apart from JP. The jury is split 50/50 in the backroom.

i think he is, just different style of player, excellent ability, awareness and composure. i agree entirely with dixie.

Those who trained Rooney and Baxter at the same age disagree. Baxter is already beating Rooney's youth records.

He could be as good as Rooney, at the moment at that age he's not. Physically Wayne was a man when he came through whereas Baxter is a little on the small side. He won't come through as fast but he does has the potential to be a very good player.

He needs to find a position really. I think he'll start outwide and then gradually move more centrally. He's definatly a second striker in the hole type player from what I've seen of him at England.

JP Kissock. He's the most Experienced player on the bench (I pretty sure, dont pick hole in it HB or suits!). But why not start him?

Tellin ya. They are just not convinced about him.

Tezza knows

Rodwell looked ok when he had time on the ball.

When pressured, he gave the ball away.

But i suppose that comes with more games, he defo has talent but isn't the player we're looking for. Defo out of his depth.

Agree with you mate, hopefully he will be stronger next time with possession (lets face it hes almost a cert to play!) maybe he was a little awestruck and theres more to come with more confidence, maybe he responded well to the start and we've seen the best he has to offer. Either way we are going to find out i reckon! Still reckon he looked more at home in midfield than jags did, dont wanna get at jags but whatever he thinks hes a center back, startin to like the idea of playin yobo in DM position more and more.

100 quid he dont get 10.

Bigging him up far too much if youve not even seen him

if he would have planted that header in the onion bag in the 89th minute....

but the bigger picture... he played well.
