Lord knows I'm no defender of Moyes but he has as much right as any other manager to bid for any of ours this idea of chivalry among football folk is madness. The whole ethos of Utd since SAF is cherry picking the best of the Prem it strengthens them and kills the opposition he would be a fool not to carry it on.

This. Moyes himself said "We don't sell players on the cheap" and that has to remain the policy going forward.

agreed. anyone who tries to buy him is obviously thinking a few years of Baines is worth at least that cos he won't have any sell on value at the end of the contract. another contract for us would be good, but 2 years of a player like him could be worth much more financially, not to mention the joy of watching him in a blue shirt for as long as possible. I have not heard a single word from him or the club to suggest he is going, so why not assume he is staying and just enjoy it till something happens. no point worrying about your tooth falling out until you get a bit of pain.
