You spelt Denis Irwin wrong mate,

Stuart Pierce would be up there with England’s best, Cole could only dream of having that type of influence on a team.

Id have Leighton ahead of Cole too.

Easy to look good in great teams or assembled with millions. Even then I thought he was bit overratted in the English media, because he was English and cultivated those front page headline profiles.

Cole was the best player in the world in his position for a good 4 or 5 years.

Pierce was just a yarddog, terrible footballer.

Hugely underrated player, which surprises me.

Played in that England team which hugely underperformed, and think he got tarred with that, but when he was at his prime, Cole was absolutely brilliant.

He was a hard man, a good defender, a great captain and a huge influence on his team from left back. It depends how you weigh really. Didn’t marry Cheryl Tweedy though.

Not saying Cole wasn’t a good player, he wasn’t world class for me, to be honest thought Leighton was closer, doing it in worse and cheaper teams.

Welcome to Everton, Ashley Cole. Just hoping the guy can bring something useful to the table as I have no idea what he has done Coaching wise etc. Well, at least he should be fun to have around the place, remember his "I hate England and all the people in it" rant?

If you call screaming and looking like a lunatic with his veins popping out of his neck influence then I suppose you might be right, terrible at actual football though.
