Very good coach, wouldn’t say a great one!
It is faster now but the ball never used to be designed to swerve and dip of its own accord. Many players look better than they are because of the pitches and the ball. There's an argument there were better footballers but not better athletes. Some of the conditions and pitches back then. Todays are mint condition carpets in comparison. A few factors come in when comparing the different era's.
Doubt Dunc said that. The moist maker, Lampard, keeps praising his work rate and interceptions in training it seems. We will find out soon enough if Duncan is correct about Mykolenko.
Cole will have him sussed by the end of next week.
Not a child of Italia 90 mate.
He went into two teams established in terms of winning trophies, hardly up there with the Rumbelows Cup. How did he get on with England, damp kech it.
You think he was better than Philip Lahm, when you say he was the best left back in the world at the time, that amazes me.
Well lahm wasn't a left back, he was a full back, he played right back more than he played left back.
And yes Ashley Cole was better, Cole was phenomenal.
I wouldn't even argue back with you about it as people have opinions but the Stuart Pearce shout has killed me off
Ay? Didn't say that mate I said he played right back more than he played left back, so if anything he was a right back.So just to clarify Lahm didn’t play left back and Ashley Cole was better.
Think we will agree to disagree mate.
Hopefully he’s a good coach though, if he proves a great one, I’ll call it.![]()
Ay? Didn't say that mate I said he played right back more than he played left back, so if anything he was a right back.
But ye agree to disagree on this, think you'll be in the very small minority on it though
Some would argue his playing career might give us an indication on how he might perform as a Coach.
Some would also argue that most of the discussion in here is in theory "on topic", due to people actually, you know, discussing Ashley Cole.
Some might even argue that this is slightly excessive moderation.
Not me tho, not at all.
The big plus for cole was his pace. He was a top left back and the game against Ronaldo where Ronaldo couldnt burn him for pace really showed he was up there at that time as good as any.
Id say baines as an actual football player. Very close that one. I might even say baines was technically a bit better.
But i'd still choose cole.
Two very good left backs.
