At the minute for me one or 2 players are letting down the rest of the side.

Pienaar being a big one in my eyes, slows down play far too much and doesn't really threaten when he's on the ball because by the time he decides what to do theres 9-10 players behind the ball.

Mirallas is another one, he's far too inconsistent, he's got the ego and aura of a big player but doesn't do enough and doesn't track back much, his form directly coincides with how quiet Seamus has been in the second half of the season attacking wise

A lot of our earlier football in the season came down both flanks, teams didn't know what to expect, I feel that element of surprise has gone and now everything goes back down our left side where incidentally has been dry of creativity all season.

Back to the drawing board for Martinez

Howard starts, Barkley buries that sitter early in the second, and we have an entirely different discussion right now.

Don,t get your point.
You reckon money does not buy success it does

Because the chances of us getting an owner like City and Chelsea is in a fairy tale land
Having an owner who may have a bit more money than Kenwright, and be able to buy a couple of more players each summer (like the RS and Spurs have done) does not guarantee success; so blaming the Chairman for us not winning anything is just stupid.

We've had numerous opportunities throughout the years to win trophies and the simple fact is that the manager or a player as always made a mistake that cost us

Last season under moyes we played some fantastic stuff creating loads of chances and if we had lukaku would have finished top 4.
Baines was excellant creating chances by the bucketload.
Under martinez with probably better players we are scared stiff when we get near the box.
Martinez just wants to hold onto the ball.
Its the tactics not the players.

The manager wants us to keep the ball and use it well...not just keep possession for the sake of it.

He doesn't tell Pienaar to pause and not play in a player running behind the defence...or play it badly...his tactics are not the reason Osman is past it or Ross is still learning....he definitely is not to blame for Kevs lack of a footballing brain.

Its not as simplistic as you make out IMO. The players were fitter and in form before xmas and we played better and created more chances but still failed to take lots of them.

For me its the players more than anything. Not faulting them, its just theres a limit to their ability and we will be better when we either replace more of them or they are not relied on every week to start.

Anyways. Agree to disagree and all that.

Without the last sentence you could easily be talking about Howard.
Yes, Howard can sometimes be a little lacking, but I thought that he had improved lately and comes to make some good claims and catches...whereas Joel seems to want to punch the ball and ends up flapping at it. When the opposition see a keeper do that it does inspire confidence...but in the opposition rather than us.

Ok dude

We do have the quality though.
Its the tactics look how wigan played last season

When they were behind, most of the players were pushed forward then they conceded another 2 goals. We were similar today and when we played the RS away too.

On way back now. Massively gutted but seen it all before. Barks takes chance he had abd we'd probs come away with a draw at least. But it wasnt our day. Penalty unlucky I thought but haven't seen it close up. Seemed a bit needless? Crucial moment that cos we lost our way then and no way back from there. One thing I learnt today - Arsenal fans are real beauts!! Good team tho.

After our great start this season if we had a proper chairman and invested in january we would be fightind for the top 4 and above.
We have no money so we will end up 7th or 8th.
My point is money matters and our failings are down to the useless board and chairman

So we spend £20m to finish 5th?? Because to challenge for the top 4 we would need at least £40m, a world class number 10 and 9

For starters you have no idea what was said behind closed doors, what players we were negotiating, and how much money is available. Putting 2+2 together to get 5, like the rest of the people on here

Typical everton this..."if, but."..etc.

Martinez needs to take a long hard look at himself. He's turning us into Wigan.
Oh, hang on a minute......

Wouldn't it be great if Bobby came out and stated publicly that he had instructed his players not to stop play for players feigning injury, Andy Carrol did it when we where in an attacking position, and Arteta did it today, we are too nice. Get mean Everton
