Wtf is this guy on about? You do know things change and don't stay the same forever? We used to play possession based game a few seasons ago with Cesc, Nasri, Hleb etc being here. We're not so focused on it as much anymore.

My point was that Gibbs realistically has no reason to believe that shot is coming, from out at that angle. He's got Rosicky there helping him cover the cut inside, and is pushing the player wider, while putting himself in a position to cover the pass to coleman (and subsequent cross) if he needs to. I'd go so far as to say that Deulofeu shooting from there is probably one of the preferable options for Arsenal, so tight is the angle, and so little is the space for him to get the shot away.

Of course it didn't exactly work out, but that doesn't necessarily mean the plan was flawed.

Gibbs did the right thing. No one would've expected the Spaniard to pull that off. Very quick feet.

No offence. This may very well be your opinion. But you do seem to be posting a lot of stuff that sides with Everton. I know we have to respect them and whatnot as it's their forum and we're guests. Trying a bit too hard to be "objective" and "balances".

I thought he tried to do 2 things at the same time without committing on either. Its true most times you dont expect a player to take a shot from that position and get such a great hit. But its a bit like a keeper getting beat by his near post when it looks like there's no angel for a shot and cross is the only thing to expect. When it happens you have to ask why didnt you assume it could happen. He could have got alot closer and would have made up the players mind to play in Coleman.......but rather that imo

Someone (on here, I think) said he was like a younger version of Cristiano Ronaldo, which looks more and more accurate with every game he plays.

No way Deulofeu was passing that to Coleman.

But being serious, there was nothing he could have done (Gibbs).

Im not trying to be balanced. I am balanced. Nothing wrong with seeing the mistakes your team made and mention them. Like how they dominated possession first half. It wasnt a plan....it happened because they played better than us. Sometimes you have to give opposition some credit
