Everton Alumni Andrew Johnson

Thought he was a good player who didn't really suit the way we played at the time. Probably sold him at the right time as he seemed to become quite injury prone and ineffective after leaving us. The derby and the arsenal goal in terrible weather were great.

I always thought he was a serial diver before we got him,it was just because of his pace and being of slight build if he was caught it could look that way, obviously after the serial moaning from esteemed managers he was never going to get a carrot off refs with us,good player and finisher, wish we had him now!!!👍

Blackburn away was the most blatant evidence of the diver narrative going against him.Clean through on goal he was taken out by a rugby tackle, not even a foul was given.Mark Hughes was their manager at the time and endorsed the ref's decision as correct given the player involved being AJ.
Even the ex red media mafia on MOTD could not believe he wasn't sent off.

One of my favourite AJ moments was the Sunderland game, he came on as sub and had either been out for a spell or going through a goal drought, got played in and smashed home the 6th that day to the biggest cheers from the Street End, until Ossie turned into Messi to make it 7 a few minutes later

I am fed up about reading about EFC youngsters having to beef up etc by DM - the best players I ever watched in a blue shirt small& slim The GV Alex Young playing on mud bath of pitches beating defenders with pure skill - Bally -Harvey -Kendal - even Big Joe Roylei I named Caburys toffee as he had a soft center - Peter Eastoe great back to goal CF - Jimmy Husband slim but no one could catch him etc etc
We beat teams with speed not muscle and slow build up football - nor hoof ball either
