I was looking for him on our last day at Goodison with all the old players - I did not see him ?
Yes - it was about a month after Cech got his head injury. Johnson hurdled the keeper to avoid either of them getting injured and Mourinho called him a diver for it.Didn't Mourinho accuse him of being a diver and subsequently had to apologise after Moyes saw his arse big time? IIRC Moyes complained to the referees boss (whoever it was) and it was acknowledged that he [Johnson] had been denied a valid penalty on numerous occasions.
A while until our next match, so I'm rolling out some 'Everton Alumni' threads.
A club record signing for Everton at the time, around £8.5m - joining in May 2006.
He was only here two seasons, scoring 17 Premier League goals in 52 starts.
What are your memories of Andy Johnson?
Alumni???????
Marcus Bent helped us to cement 4th place 2 pens big tit Beattie was moved on - utter waste of money & space ....He was good for us but James Beattie was a greater achievement for us as he helped cement our greatest moment in history by helping to secure us 4th place.
The greatest achievement in the history of the Premier League.
I believe Bradley Cooper is going to play him in a upcoming HBO TV series to celebrate this legendary sporting event that shook the world to its core.
Quick, worked hard, scored a few goals then we made some money on him, couldn’t ask for more really. Seemed a decent feller too. Remember he scored a belter in the europa league from long range
That goal for Palace. I think we'd played a 1-1 draw with birmingham on the same day. What are your memories of Andy Johnson?

I loved AJ when we first signed. Beattie was our big splash on a striker a couple of years previously and it didn't work out as well as we'd hoped. Really thought we'd signed someone who was gonna regularly net 10-15 a season at the time. It's mad on reflection how he was 2nd choice pretty much a year after signing, would have liked us to keep have kept him for another year or two, it's always good to have an instinctive finisher on the bench and he worked hard to back it up. But obviously, he was probably too good at the time to be second / third choice and we sold him while his stock was high.
Particular highlights are obviously the derby, the late Arsenal winner and away at West Ham.
I still don't forgive him for not slotting late on away at Anfield in the infamous "small club" derby, like. But other than that, what a guy.
