Starting to annoy me now, I stuck up for him and at his best he is a beast but we are seeing it less and less. I hope he sorts himself out.

Most of our recent signings, we over-rated them, to a greater or lesser extent.

Then we sometimes spend eons hoping for some miraculous upturn in form and performances which doesn't materialise.

He has looked good in a few games here and there but who wouldn't?

If Ancelotti doesn't have the tactical and man-management tools to get a tune out of him, then nobody does.

But that isn't the issue really. By and large with Gomes, we are looking for a level of consistency, which through a combination of physical and mental deficits, he simply isn't capable of delivering upon.

We got star-struck for his loan season, when he did ok. The hard decision would have been to turn down a permanent deal, or try to have squeezed another loan option from Barca.

I think the ship has sailed on him being the answer long-term, but I maintain that he's the best option in this system.

He wouldn’t have done anything different today. Slow and clumsy, we were badly over run nothing he would have done to prevent that.
