A lot depends on the state of the club in the summer. If we're still in limbo, there's no point bringing in anyone with ambition that isn't matched by a unified board. Having said that, Sam can't be a long term appointment and Silva smacks of Martinez the 2nd.

All of this has just made me think, tinfoil hat firmly on head..

What if Silva tanked at Watford on purpose in order for this very situation to unfold? Makes himself available for nothing, which is obviously going to put Moshiri on alert..

Can't see it like, but at the same time it wouldn't surprise me either.

I think mainly its because of my hatred for Sam, but......

Wer are a funny bunch. On one hand, we complain about the small time inappropriate appointment of Allardyce. Yet on the other we have a root on for the bloke who valiantly relegated Hull and just got sacked from a middling Watford.

Anyone else recall Owen Coyle being flavour of the month at Bolton? I remember folk wanting us to ditch Moyes for him! The Silva love stinks of that.

I think our board need to do their homework and get someone decent in over the summer.

I'm more willing to take it from him than some random ITK mate, that's all

I know mate "ITK's" and all that, but come on really in your wildest dreams do you EXPECT him to say otherwise while he is under contract at another club?? Managers being two faced to keep things on even keel?

I don't know if he was or wasn't interviewed, I wouldn't expect him to say he was though even if he was about to sign on the dotted line.

This.

The single biggest decision of the 'Moshiri era' will hinge on what happens in May/June. I've advocated for ages now that the only way we'll ever progress, money or not, will be with a top international coach at the helm. That is the single biggest 'signing' we can ever hope to make..

If we don't - and the start of next season goes badly - it's game over.

It would all depend on how he broached it, but yeah, I could see him admitting it definitely

Moyes admitted Spurs were interested back when he was managing us
