Dibling has been on a PL team for two seasons now and looked like a PL player for basically 0% of that time. The answer is pretty clear at this point. He’s not any good.

we could have players in the squad who are stars, but we will never know as the manager we have now plays the same team the same system week in week out, square pegs round holes, get a manager in who can coach and you will be surprised just playing players in their natural positions for a start.

Squad depth? If we had a bigger squad there'd just be more players who didn't get a look in.

Players who are good enough to actually compete for places.

We've improved a lot. The last quarter of the season was dreadful, but I don't think any team playing O'Brien at right back, Iroegbunam, Beto/Barry and Rohl at right wing is going to be able to compete. These are all positions we need to improve this summer, and hopefully we do.

So these players are picking themselves?

For anyone advocating Moyes stays I would be curious their idea of how likely he’d be to stay all of next season. Because part of my calculus is the fact there is current pressure from the fanbase and in our decade of constant hasty managerial turnover, it’s almost never been helped by often being an in season decision.

Everton not being in dire straits and having a summer objectively is more attractive to possible gaffers and conversely does invite more options and patience for the club to consider. Personally that’s a big factor in the reason for scrutiny now.

I know Dibling barely played, but even when he did there were essentially zero flashes. Aznou played like 25 minutes and had more flashes. Dibling’s season at Saints wasn’t any good, but people did the thing where they’re willing to just call it youth and assume he’s going to figure it out. A lot of times guys don’t figure it out. I’m not really a fan of Moyes personnel decisions at all. This one I can justify easily.
