Appears that 90% is a quotable figure.
decent article about the subject

I was more so talking about that twitter it just got to some weird people quick when you started clicking around.

I wanted to say fake news but the pun was played out. I don't get much into percentages in news stories. They are subject to manipulation in whatever direction that source wants pretty easily.

But if you click on that, and the woman who tweeted it out. I think she tried to create her own media company to create her own credibility. She doesn't even have a verified twitter account.

Russia and China will like it here. Big influence they will have from now on. US lost big time.

You've said nothing of the like that reflects you've taken a class like comparative politics which would help you greatly understand why your post ww2 analogies and this aren't accurate.

Lol at you calling others uneducated, you've done nothing to show specifics or anything that supports what you believe.

Just ideological beliefs. If you can't see the difference you are helpless.

I admit when I'm wrong. I've thought over the last century or so in the post colonial period the UK had adopted policy of building coalitions when it comes to taking military action. They largely have.

I do know when to admit I'm wrong or ignorant. I wasn't aware of the Sierra Leone situation in the early 2000's. And I completely forgot about the Falklands in that moment. Pardon me for not being aware of the UK involvement in Sierea Leone when I was 10 lol. I will however read up on that because unlike you, I try to learn.

Not just seek out misnomers and misinformation to reinforce my viewpoints. Which is unfortunately a plague on humanity at this point.

Edit: I love that welcome to the ignore button.

Like anyone has gotten anything out of a conversation with you. And you got this far through life the way you are, and putting people on the ignore list lol. What a grown child. I'll take it as a compliment.

That’s ok, your lack of years explains a lot….

I actually believe this is part of the US turning the brunt of its focus to the far east.

I have a friend in the air force... well I should say friend of friends. I'm not very close to him. He's just an average guy in the airforce, just enlisted like 3 or 4 years ago... I bring that up because I think he exaggerates his importance and position with the way he talks about things and I don't believe it to be any great secret he's revealing or like he has any information that isn't declassified.

He's also stationed in Florida, so he's not in the Pacific where maybe it would geographically make sense. Anyways, he says all they talk about and focus on is China. Not Russia, none of this middle east stuff. It's all about China.

Which I think makes sense. I don't believe the US is going to turn away from them too much. Regardless of what the population might desire. There will always be too large of a war hawk contingent in this country. China is becoming increasingly aggressive or atleast they are vocalizing it in different ways.

I think they think we are weak now also. And we should feel some vulnerability here and use that to motivate us to be better allies and actors in global organizations we are members of. Just can't see how we ignore that area, a level of fear exists in this country of China I think in terms of letting them pass us. That pressure won't allow us to just go away in my estimation.
Interesting to hear that first hand view, which is certainly a little more comforting.
Think the worrying aspect from what ive read is the poor state of the Navy. Whether that is just the upper levels exaggeration to gain a bigger piece of the budget, or if there is a genuine concern, the next decade is going to be 'interestingv

Given this seems increasingly likely Pete, do you still object to an "EU army"?

brilliant idea,
who funds it?
who has the right to send it to war.?
can any one country veto any action?
What language to the use?
Which counties supply it with arms?
What happens to the members own armies ?
does it have conscription, as some counties with the EU have?
then again it's not our problem any more so why worry about it:p

Oh twitter for sure can be one oddball place.

Moreso than ever. Terrible idea.

The United States is a country, the EU isn't, it would therefore work in a fundamentally different way. It's a non-starter.

US isolationism is long overdue. The 'global policeman' idea since WW2 and then even further after the 'red menace' of McCarthyism is defunct. They need to distinguish between global war threats from a powerful nation state, where they'd need to intervene, and invading tinpot countries out of revenge or for ideology like Vietnam/Korea/Iraq/Afghanistan.

I hope, when the EU army invades these shores, that they send some fit Italian birds over as medics, at least
