The Afghans have lost thousands and thousands of lives in recent years fighting on the front line. The Afghans were fighting on the front line not in reserve or support in the last few years.
Possibly the most important factor in an army besides equipment, expertise and man power is morale. No army survives long without good morale. Not being paid for months by a corrupt government in Kabul, air support withdrawn and the carpet pulled from under them by foreign withdrawal how long did Biden think they'd last.
Joe Biden is the Taliban's useful idiot. We may think a war far away from home isn't worth it and are not interested, but they're interested in the US and the West. I'd rather a war was far away than brought home here on our doorstep as these people (Islamic extremists) want - well done Joe NOT.

They've run everyone out at one time or other. It's only a matter of time before Russia go too if they get too embroiled in Afghanistani politics. And I wouldn't be surprised if this is the UK or USA's last evacuation there either.
