2025/26 Adam Aznou

Is clear we all would have wanted more from him same with barry and dibbling. But is the types of transfers efc as a club should be making, will be a test to see how the manager and the rest csn develop these players
We're not Chelsea. Aznou, Barry and Dibling used up most of our transfer budget when we were losing half of our squad. We should have signed one of them, probably Dibling, and then signed more proven players who could have gone straight into the first team squad.

….but they shouldn’t see it as a step down, it’s an ideal opportunity for them and a measure of their professionalism and application.

If I’m Aznou or his advisors, I’m looking at what’s ahead of me and Everton offers a huge chance for an upcoming LB to make a name for himself. He’ll see he’s only got Mykolenko ahead of him, and he’s knows he’d get the chance to link with Grealish.

Last night was a test for him, something he should relish. The chance to be like a Rolls Royce, going past players at the top end and comfortably in control defensively.
I agree Eggs and I share that mindset but these are privileged footballers who have a different kind of ego and I suspect they know that Moyes will still not pick them for the first team anyway based on their performance in a under 21 match. It's not like the old reserve league days when managers regularly watched them to see who can step up after all

Is he a first team squad player though?

How many mins has he played for the first team?
He's definitely a first team squad member as he's not going to be playing many under 21 games and he was signed as a first team squad player otherwise why would he leave Bayern Munich for our under 21s?

The vast majority of 'proven' players that would have come to us over the summer were either too crap, too expensive, or too old. KDH and Grealish were the only ones that didn't come under those categories. The rest of the 'proven player' links were players like Soucek and James Justin. We did the right thing and bought for the future instead.

Why is it clubs like bournemouth can go buy left backs like 23yr old Truffert for 14m and has slotted straight into their first team.
We're hoping this kid comes good. Hope is all it is. Bayern let him go so there is that question mark. You cant say we've done the right thing unless he comes good
We needed and have needed to buy fullbacks ready to go.

Well they sold their prior left back for 40 million, that's a start.
