Aaron Lennon

And therein lies the problem WB, like Cleverley, Deulofeu, Gibson, and Kone, realistically, he's just a squad player and right now, we need to reduce their numbers and replace with genuine starters.

Pretty much all clubs need squad players though. Unless you've got oodles of money to spend on wages, it's nigh on impossible to have top class backups in every area because most players want to play football week in, week out.

Gibson and Kone are poor examples because they rarely make the bench these days. Those are the sort of players which need culling first.

As new signings and youngsters come through then you can start to hack out a few more, but there's some weird idea that we can just sell all our current squad players over the next two windows and replace them with quality.

That might work in some virtual utopia but the reality is that we will need squad players similar to Lennon's quality for a little while yet.

Don't disagree WB, but we seem to be somewhat overloaded with journeymen.

It'll take at least this and probably two or three more windows for the necessary ins and outs to be completed, but we have to aim for a quality upgrade and if that means a slightly smaller squad bulked out by young 'uns brought through the ranks aka Davies, Pennington, Holgate etc, then that might be the way RoKo and SW are taking us.

Looked like he'd completely lost any confidence today. I really liked him but his lack of quality has been there for all to see this year.

lots of lower/mid table teams would take him. he came in handy for us when we signed him and he will go to someone like sunderland or palace and do the same for them.

if i were moyes i would defo be inquiring about lennon. they are so short of attack minded players. he also does a good job defending so would suit them perfectly

He was utterly gash yesterday in fact he got in colemans way we only played when he went off!
Geri must have sat there watching in amazement how slow he was!
How he cannot get bench time he is obviously asked to go on loan!

Slow? Not a chance mate.

If you overdo your criticism of one player to justify your support for another, it weakens your position. Just saying like.

Well dont bother most fans on here stated Lennon was very poor its ok to compare him with like for like ok!

Lennon had a poor game but he still worked hard for the team and defensively offered a lot of cover to Coleman.

That's what Koeman wants from his players, Geri for all the talent he has is not capable to working back and offering support to Coleman.
