Aaron Lennon

Thirty years ago a club could survive with a squad of about fifteen players, those days are long since gone. A club needs at least twenty players in a squad these days and it is simply impossible to have twenty plus players who all play in the first team every week.

Aaron Lennon is a great player to have in a squad and over the season he will play in a lot of games and contribute plenty to our season.

If we were not so comfortable yesterday against Villa I think we would have seen Lennon being used instead of Gibson or Osman. Injuries and suspensions will change the team and we will see different members of the squad get games. The manager gave a runout to Osman and Gibson to make sure that as many players as possible will be ready to play.

Not exactly sure why such a big question mark is hanging over him. He did really well for us last season and it's the improved form of Del and Kone keeping him on sidelines. Gonna be lots of opportunities for him if we need to change shape and players lose form.

Really disappointing today. He's supposed to be the defensive option on the right, but Coleman was even more isolated than before after Deulofeu came off. Was about 15 yards from Daniels when he delivered the cross for Bournemouth's second.

What was he doing there in the end? He left Coleman exposed on the right and done nothing when they crossed!?

He's had like five appearances, give him a chance like.

Think he earned that by turning around our season last year.
We were 12th when he signed, and 11th at the end of the season. It was hardly a turnaround of george Osborne proportions. The lad ran his socks off for a few games last year, but he's not very good. His effort levels have also been questionable this year, today wasn't the first game that he's not done a great job defensively, which he did pretty much every week last year.

Have said since day 1 it was an odd signing.

Did well in his first few games but possibly that could have been simply Martinez having a player of his type rather than the player himself....if that makes any sense.

As long as Deulofeu is first choice and we have Lennon in reserve at least that position is covered.

lennon is a good squad player that is it. He runs fast and can cause problems if the fill backs can't deal with such a direct response.

There is also a reason del is keeping him out the team, so for 4 million he is a bargain for his experience and miles better than mcgeady
