Aaron Lennon

I thought he had a pretty poor game. His touch was letting him down on the attack and he didn't seem to have quite the defensive work rate I'm used to seeing. He could have gotten in front of Coutinho prior to his shot but he just let him go.

I desperately wanted more attacking options in yesterday's match. We already had a full-defensive back 4 with 2 defensive midfielders. Didn't need a defensive-minded winger as well. I would have put Lennon in at RB, Kone at RW, and Gibson in Barry or McCarthy's spot to help facilitate passing through the middle instead of the constant long-balls.

Feel sorry for Lennon. Had a good loan spell here last season in a difficult period for us and nobody thought that bringing him back was a bad idea.

Plenty of people want us to somehow find a spot for Mirallas in the team (even though he's done little to deserve it lately), but Lennon doesn't get a mention because of the brilliance of Deulofeu

Wonder if he is already regretting moving here? Difficult to see how he'll claim a place in the side apart from over Christmas when we need to rotate a bit and to cover for injuries

Mirallas is a more dangerous and exciting player. Lennon is harder working and more consistent. They'll both have a role to play at some point.

I feel a bit sorry for Lennon, he got squeezed out of Spurs and found a good home at Everton last year when things were bad. I doubt that anyone thought it a bad idea when we bought him.

Everton have picked up and once again he has been squeezed out.

It is difficult to see him as anything other than a squad player, albeit a good squad player. If we keep going this season we will be back in Europe, if that happens then we need a big squad, players like him will be invaluable. We don't want a repeat of last year.

Good teams need players of his quality to come in for cover.

He's a good player to have in case of injury/suspension/fatigue/European qualification of some sort next season.

He's not squozen out, his use will soon become apparent. If Mirallas leaves in January or summer he'd fill a hole there too.

Fully expect Lennon, Nasimith, Cleverley, Mirallas and possibly Gibson to start against Boro

I thought that. I'm now not so sure. Bearing in mind that Bobby subbed off Del and Ross, I'm now expecting them to start.

I think it would be massive for the two of them to be involved in a cup win, at this stage of their careers, and I think Bobby is gonna go for it. we can beat anybody on our day, 3 games and we'll have a shiny pot................ We'll probs go out to Boro on pens then. :P

I live 20 miles from White Hart Lane and I know many season ticket holders at Spurs and they couldn't believe we bought him, most saying he's been garbage for years, lost his attacking threat and just runs a lot.

I've noticed that in recent games he's played in, the ball is like a hot potato with him and he just wants to get rid. Compared to Delofeou, he's vastly inferior and sadly I think his career will drift away whilst becoming a millionaire for being very average.

Could be right mate, it's all down to if he wants to try keep momentum going with the same team against getting some players who needs games some proper time, all in the light of still progressing in the cup ofc, nea as long as we don't slip up due to the choice really

He's not getting in the side ahead of Deulofeu/Mirallas/Kone/Naismith as one of the 3 behind Lukaku, so won't make many league appearances this season I wouldn't have thought. He did well enough for us last year, and worked hard, but as others have said he's a mid-table player at best. Pretty obviously a back-up option when Martinez realised Yarmolenko wasn't happening.

Howard
Robles
Hibbert
Gibson
Osman
Pienaar
McGeady
Naismith

As i said before he was signed, we may as well add Lennon to that list. I think next summer is too early but think he will be off before his contract ends.

Similar to mirallas he wont get in the side other than through others losing form or injuries...and Mirallas is a better player.

He'll be useful away at the better due to his work rate. Think whilst Kone has been great this year, Southampton aside, i dont think he's been as useful away from home.
