Along with the very tired photo of "the delegation", the expression "watch this space", the cut out image of Kenwright and any number of other beaten to death jokes.
where's the new punchlines Bill ???

BANG ON! I would much rather our club was attempting to dominate the league and Europe than trying to foster a sense of community and helping out those less fortunate in the local area. Supporting a football club is just about winning.

This to me is totally wrong. If that's all that matters then why not support a winning team that sells their soul to win? I am sorry...the pride in Everton for me IS in WHO Everton are...winning or losing I will still be PROUD to be an Evertonian. For me Everton are different than other clubs...and when we win again one day it will mean so much more...be so much sweeter...showing you don't have to throw away your values to achieve success.
In short...winning is important...but to me not as important as keeping your identity as a club.
Chairman Bill said:
you are Nil Satis.
Any Latin experts here? I thought "nisi optimum" was the "nothing but the best" part. And "nil satis" was the "is good enough". In fact, "nil satis" on its own roughly translates as "not enough".
Nisi optimum could be used on its own as it translates as "only the best"
"Nil satis" is "Nothing satisfies" or "Nothing is satisfactory"
There is some slight differences in translation when the two phrases are put together, but it does mean "Nothing is satisfactory BUT the best" or the more familiar "Nothing but the best will do" or "Only the best will do"
Much better than: Venerisque offensa per omnia et nihil pudet
quite sure Bill didn't mean to say that those working in it were "never satisfied". I think he meant to say that they were "nothing but the best".
Omarza, deadsoft was satirising.
I really dont care. I dont care so much, I've decided to post a response to let you know i don't really care.Any more feedback on this? Are we all agreed Bill made a fauxpas?
NSNO literally translated means 'nothing satisfies unless the best'. Which is then open to be grammatically rearranged in English to something similar which means the same thing. Hence 'only the best is good enough'.
Yeah, we all know what it means as a whole, but Bill only used the "nil satis" part.
I'm surprised not many people care about this, but then maybe I'm a stickler for language accuracy.

He may have been trying for a "hip" way of saying NSNO. But who cares?
Oh and bill, don't talk about other clubs who sell their souls to win, as we've suffered and watched you do a grand job of destroying our own over the years with your ****e !
Well, obviously no one does. But I for one would want to use our club's motto accurately if I was the chairman.
But the Greatest Living Evertonian needn't worry about such minor details.
That you bill?
As much I as appreciate what you've said here, I think the vast majority of Evertonians want to see out chairman back us in the transfer market and spend the cash to take us to another level where we can again compete for honours on a regular basis.
I don't think there is anything wrong with that what so ever do you? Don't you think we deserve a bit back mate?
Unfortunately, that's just the way football is now and to achieve success, you pretty much have to spend a few bob. The only thing the lad who you quoted agreed on, was that he basically wants a chairman who's number priorty is to make Everton a force again and back up his words with actions.......... for a change !!

Why did you capitalise that? Did someone call Bill Kenwright the Greatest Living Evertonian?
Bonkers.
For the record I'm supporting our chairman until at least to the end of the summer window, and I like him as our chairman. But he's a long way off our greatest living Evertonian. Too many Kendalls, Southalls, Royles, Ratcliffes around.
