A Message from Bill Kenwright to Evertonians on the club website

He's got some front, that's for sure.

14 years at the helm of this club and not one red cent invested by him or his fellow carpet baggers, a stadium decision still hanging in the balance, but he breezes in with his paternalist tripe like he's addressing his mill workers.

'Chairman Bill'. What a piss take that self-description is. As if it was something to have pride in rather than the badge of shame that it should be worn as. The man who's watch as *custodian* allowed two Cockney cowboys get their hands around the throat of the club and who wont let go until they get their pound of flesh.

Still, as long as he's still got nominal control of his trainset that's all that matters.

For the 100th time: "Worse thing to happen to Everton since John Houlding".

THis and Dave is being economical with the things that have gone and not gone on, as some one said to Bruce did not get the title Billy Liar for nothing.

BANG ON! I would much rather our club was attempting to dominate the league and Europe than trying to foster a sense of community and helping out those less fortunate in the local area. Supporting a football club is just about winning.

This is another comment that hits the spot. If we were winning the PL and in the CL we would have all the community spirit and more than we could handle.

I wonder how many of the "experts" on here would put their money where their mouth is?

How many of the "experts" on here have the kind of money Bill and his cronies do? Put it this way -- if I subscribe to Everton TV, I've put more money into the club than they have since they took over.

Chairman Bill said:

you are Nil Satis.

Any Latin experts here? I thought "nisi optimum" was the "nothing but the best" part. And "nil satis" was the "is good enough". In fact, "nil satis" on its own roughly translates as "not enough".

oooooooooooops!

oooooooooooops!

It's an Everton thing, lad. You wouldn't understand.

Nisi optimum could be used on its own as it translates as "only the best"
"Nil satis" is "Nothing satisfies" or "Nothing is satisfactory"
There is some slight differences in translation when the two phrases are put together, but it does mean "Nothing is satisfactory BUT the best" or the more familiar "Nothing but the best will do" or "Only the best will do"
Much better than: Venerisque offensa per omnia et nihil pudet

That's what I thought. So Bill's use of it was completely wrong then?
