Will we get a statement from director Robert Earl any day soon?? I wonder how much of the following article is true, one things for sure though. Robert has not really been arsed getting involved with Everton since the collapse of DK. I think he will be the key to selling Everton, he wants to make a large return on his 9 million.

It would be nice if our local newspaper decided to do a bit of journalism and find out what exactly a company director who owns a quarter of Everton actually do and what his plans are???

He's got some front, that's for sure.

14 years at the helm of this club and not one red cent invested by him or his fellow carpet baggers, a stadium decision still hanging in the balance, but he breezes in with his paternalist tripe like he's addressing his mill workers.

'Chairman Bill'. What a piss take that self-description is. As if it was something to have pride in rather than the badge of shame that it should be worn as. The man who's watch as *custodian* allowed two Cockney cowboys get their hands around the throat of the club and who wont let go until they get their pound of flesh.

Still, as long as he's still got nominal control of his trainset that's all that matters.

For the 100th time: "Worse thing to happen to Everton since John Houlding".

Manchester City chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak says they're ready to spend big this summer.

When asked if City would make any signings, he replied: “Absolutely. This is going to be a very important year for us.

“We’ve made some very important management decisions.

“The new manager, from day one, has a responsibility to prepare a team for us next season — a team that will be able to compete and to win every competition we’re involved in.”

I'd rather here this !!!! than a few thanks and how wonderful it was opening the gates at xmas singing a few songs with blues.

If you bank at any of our High Street banks, you may be surprised to learn that the branch you go into to use the ATM isn't owned by the bank, its been sold by the bank and leased back. The same with a number of High Street stores. Sell and lease back is a perfectly acceptable way to operarte in business, as it releases the bulk of the value of the property in cash for other purposes. Like buying players.

But Steve, if its not nailed down its sold. We have a 25 year loan against the season ticket sales, loans against the next 2 years of Sky money.

We are the equivalent of the family up to our eyeballs in debt with credit cards, using pay day loans to get by and every now and then forced to sell a bit of the family silver to get by.

It's business, done very badly.

We are 1 point behind the RS......

BANG ON! I would much rather our club was attempting to dominate the league and Europe than trying to foster a sense of community and helping out those less fortunate in the local area. Supporting a football club is just about winning.

Good words from Bill there, bit cheesy, but nothing wrong with it.
It has nothing to do with stadium moves or finance or ability, or indeed our ability to sign decent managers, just a decent statement about the mans opinion of the club.
Its irrelevent to anything, but a decent address to everton fans none the less.

I agree with all of that, but it is still likely to be met with some sneering from some of the clubs die hard fans and justifiably so IMO.

I've supported the blues for over 50 years. Seen them win 4 titles and many cups. Seen some great football and some utter crap. Supporting a club is never just about just winning as no one can always win, as a few Utd fans will shortly be finding out.........
